Following on from Isaac's list on the last match thread.
The Beano have picked up on who is out of contract in this mornings press here is the edited list of contract end dates.
Full list of players who will be out of contract this summer: Liam Feeney, Rob Hall, Paul Rachubka, Neil Danns, Emile Heskey, Stephen Dobbie, Kaiyne Woolery, David Wheater, Tom Eaves, Hayden White, Ross Fitzsimons, Jordan Lussey, Jon Ceberio, Tom Walker, Rob Holding, Yvan Wassi, Channing Campbell-Young, Niall Maher, Harry Campbell, Oscar Threlkeld, Quade Taylor, Alex Finney.
ON LOAN: Wellington Silva (Arsenal)
NEXT SUMMER (2017): Dean Moxey, Dorian Dervite, Josh Vela, Jay Spearing, Max Clayton, Gary Madine, Mark Davies, Liam Trotter, Francesco Pisano, Lawrie Wilson, Filip Twardzik, Will Jaaskelainen.
SUMMER 2018: Derik Osede, Darren Pratley, Conor Wilkinson.
SUMMER 2019: Ben Amos, Zach Clough.
So while we have all been looking at upcoming court dates and what plans the club may did we fail to spot the real cunning trick ? when you take into account the reduction of players this summer the monthly running costs would fall dramatically a few of the 2017 leavers could be sold to generate some cash leaving even fewer players a cheap buy for a club in either this or L1
Will it force the younger generation through we've heard talk of fast tracking them was it the plan all along once the funding stopped.
Now if I were a potential buyer it would look a different proposition if we were in a lower league with the minimum squad as a starting point.
Did Isaac tip off the Beano after uncovering the cunning plans of Ed to hang on in there sell this summer when many contracts are up and young ones who made the breakthrough could be sold.
Anybody want to buy the shell of a once proud football club ?

Are we a more attractive buy come summer

I would think that division 1 will only be the start of the fall down the leagues unless a miracle happens and that's not looking likely.
Just wondering if Ed will bite the bullet before the court case and go into administration. It's getting close now.

But you still buy the contracts and wage commitments as part of any deal the ones out of contract after this summer will have a price attached to them for tax purposes. The land and buildings are worthless and unsaleable until some sort of deal is done with the loans secured against them.
Hence you can snap up the club for a quid if you have the funds to manage all that comes with it its all the bits which have ruled out all but one bidder so far as it was beyond them to stand anything more than a very short term commitment without needing the assets unfreezing to allow mortgages to be taken against them.

I would expect that its the other way around. The contracts wont i dont expect be worth much. On paper they maybe, but the consideration from a buyer, they wont, most players are average at best. From what i gather the assets arent mortgaged anymore l, that loan was paid back. The value is in the bricks and mortar, not pratleys left peg

What do you mean loan it should be plural as in loans.
The player contracts are with the business so they are included and of benefit for tax purposes you couldn't devalue them or exclude. Until all loans are fully paid off our valuable assets are the saleable players but Terry failed to shift any and the window is shut While we are under court orders the creditors come first so it's catch 22 until somebody moves.

Ok ye olde. My guess is ur incorrect on ur point that the players paper value will be a big consideration. I expect it isnt, as they arent valuable assets....proven by the fact they couldnt be sold.
The reason we are worth anything is because we own our stadium etc etc etc. The whole reason we are not being sold for a pound

I think you will find we will be sold for a pound with a contract full of terms and conditions you will never see. You will probably find it includes paying off creditors within x days of handing over your pound.
I am correct in the players contract value will be in the contract of sale for the club the fact they are in there doesn't mean you will be paying that value. I'll be buying the club for a quid with the players contract value in the detail.
We currently do not own our own stadium there is a loan secured against it. You have to wait for Ed to shuffle a lot before buying the club debt free he's been busy doing just that in the last 10 days while on the beach.
The loan and car park deal paid of a debt to Brett as part of the shuffling and borrowing to do the deal.

couldn't a player's contract be torn up? worth nothing in assets then, same as if the players walked after not being paid wages,
or am I completely wrong?

Not really Isaac you either have to pay the contract up or make them redundant both are subject to employment and contract laws.
The Blackpool way was about the only way of getting around it all if we had known where we would be now at the start of the season I'd have been tempted to follow their lead.

Maybe a stupid question...what is the asset, the player, the contract or the registration of that player?
posted on 17/2/16
Altogether the cost of acquiring or replacing a player registration and contract together make a value for tax and insurance purposes to the player and club. Think of it t as an asset and a liability if a contract is in place to pay and insure the player we will have a value in mind as to what each contract is worth if somebody wants to buy the contract and transfer the player in the meantime we have to pay insure and cover the cost of registration.
