I wonder what the atmosphere in the Arsenal community will be like if Wenger (probably at the end of this season) leaves or gets sacked ?
Arsenal fans seem to be gearing up for more physical and abusive confrontation with each other now regarding how and when Wenger should go.
Anyway, read an interesting article on the BBC today regarding it...

I think a lot of supporters for so long have put Wenger being in charge (no matter what) in front of Arsenal being a successful club at the highest level on the pitch. I think a lot of the hostility from Wenger supporters is from their bunker mentality. For some strange reason they just cannot see Arsenal being managed by anybody else.

If wengers not replaced with the correct person we won't be any better.

That's a given with any new appointment in any walk of life.

Thats why the wisest move would be keep wenger around at board level like Barca did with Cryuff for a while.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Having Wenger hanging around the club would be a divisive, negative and disruptive influence at the club. Wenger needs to leave the club and not come back in any capacity whatsoever.

Presumably a judgement on who is the "right person" is withheld until they succeed or fail. So this pretty much says nothing.

The right person will be the manager who get's the team playing good football and winning Premier and Champions leagues on a consistent basis in a reasonable length of time. How long that reasonable length of time is depends on the circumstances at the time. I doubt that it will be 9 trophy less year's though.

Based on that answer, there will never be the "right person" then.

Sorry but your expectations are over the top, saying things like "winning the Premier and Champions Leagues on a consistent basis" is a bit deluded, especially as far as the CL goes, I'm sorry but we aren't a Barca or a Bayern, we'd need a Ferguson type manager to get us to that level.
I think the aim should be to at least challenge (properly) for the PL every year and win it on average once every 3 seasons along with adding the odd domestic cup to that, expecting to win the CL isn't a realistic aim but if we can get a setup as mentioned then we can definitely be competitive in it at least.

Every club in Europe is chasing this manager and have been since these competitions began. He only seems to stick around at clubs for 5 years or less.
We need to get used to the idea that if we want to win these trophies consistently we will need a shorter rotation of managers. Wenger was great for the first 5 or 6 years but was allowed to stay too long at the club without actually achieving anything.
This cannot be allowed to happen again.

Not my expectation but what we as a club should be trying to achieve and not accepting anything less than trying to be the best.
That means going for the best players and coaches and having a team and manager that actually WIN the best competitions.

I think everyone on here is more or less echoing what we all want for Arsenal F.C....to be the best and to win. However, the main obstacle to that being attainable is Wenger continuing as manager. With him in charge we ensure we are going nowhere.

We have a power vacuum at board level. Wenger filling it will help. Most managers these days are coaches. You can expect them to run scouting networks etc. They have never done it before.
