Leicester

Somehow ambivalent towards their winning. On the one hand, it dashes our implausible, but not impossible title dreams. On the other, it puts further distance between them and the toy tots who I dread winning the title. Can't imagine a universe where Spurs are English champions.

That said, they are quite the flukey side. Teams including Barca have those bad games where they waste tons of chances. Or concede unlucky goals. Or get shafted by poor officiating. Leicester just plod along somehow game after game. Still can't believe they're gonna end up champions. 31 games gone and looking untouchable. Brings up memories of so many games where we utterly facked it up. Even a win against Swansea would have left us in a good enough position for the frantic finish. Can't believe how we've facked this up.

Anyways....well done Leicester.

"And perhaps, most contentious of all (yes, there's no objective proof) they have been more fortunate with the officiating than other top clubs."
============================================
I know you've been careful to qualify this statement, but don't let yourself be dragged into this kind of thinking. For 31 games they've been the best team in the league, simple as. The usual suspects, including ourselves have been utterly pathetic and Leicester have taken advantage of that in superb fashion. They deserve nothing but credit, not questions. At the end of the day, they're Leicester City, if they've made the most of their whatever luck they've had then fair play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a difference between saying well done to them for making the best of it and totally denying that good fortune has had anything to do with it. You don't go from fighting relegation one season to winning the EPL the next. I'm happy for Leicester to win it if we can't but statements like this:

"Sheriff to win the league you need to accumulate more points than any other team over a season - Up to now we've done that - Luck doesn't come into it"

Are just plain stupid. Leicester would not be where they are if not for the good fortune of all the usual main contenders having various issues going on within the sides that they have been nowhere near the usual forces they are to be reckoned with. Plus a brilliant run of fitness for their starters. Leicester have done brilliantly but that squad is not strong enough to have done what they have without a big fat helping hand from lady luck. No Leicester fan should be saying any different after watching their team fight for survival last season. Bonehead comments like that suddenly make the idea of them winning the whole thing not so 'charming' and will lose them neutral support in a hurry.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm pretty sure they don't give a crap aboput neutral support as I imagine they're a lot less insecure than many of our attention deficient, pampered princesses who cry foul when BT sport use a defeat as an advertisement for the channel.

Anyway, as for the rest of your post, every team suffers good fortune, every team suffers ill-fortune, it's how you handle both that separates the successes from the failures. To try and minimise Leicester's achievement, as you quite blatantly are, stinks of nothing more than sour grapes at our own team's inability to take advantage of a pathetic league season. It's hugely transparent.

I never tried to minimise the achievement at all. I pulled a Leicester fan up about overstating the achievement. It irked me he made the statement totally dismissing luck's involvement. As though his relegation form team all just became the league's best team over night all by itself. Had they been contenders for the last ten years then he'd at least have had understandable cause to make such a stupid statement. But given where they were this time last year, he should be considerably more grateful to the football fates than he is. And too busy thanking his lucky stars to be saying such stupid things. Especially on the board of a team that took 6 points off the side he's claiming to be so amazing.

Of course Leicester have been lucky with injuries. That doesn't detract from their achievement. This Leicester team will become an everlasting legend for their fans, when in 5 years time they look up from the Championship to the Premier league. Sorry, look at Leeds, Blackburn, Notts Forest. That could well be Leicester's fate. Cherish your success. It won't last. Above all be humble.

Exactly.

Has any team won the league without a slice of luck, if you think they have then that's just silly.
=======

Everybody needs some luck to win the title. And a team from the relegation bowels of the league, needs a WHOLE FECKIN LOT! I never said a team wins it without luck. That was you talking about Leicester, claiming luck had nothing to do with where you are. I merely challenged that statement.

Just for the record, if we don't win it (which I'm not quite ready to concede will be the case just yet) I want Leicester to win it. So long as I don't see many more statements like that one from the fans. I'm actually already thinking about going to see the film that'll be made for sure if they do it. Will be interesting to see the story as it unfolded through their eyes. Could be a great movie if they cast it right.

Had a feeling you'd comeback with something like that. Juvenile little pillocks generally respond that way after you finish picking their idiot comment/statement apart. So I knew you'd struggle the second I pointed out that it was you who said something about a team winning without luck.

Confused yaself and now just swearing and insulting everyone in the hope that no one notices how much of a moron you've been.

Bless your little 2 digit IQ cotton socks.

Wow, a foxes voice is yet another stellar fan leaving us wishing nothing but the best for Leicester

Dunno about others but it bugs me that some Leicester fans genuinely think they are top thanks to being a top quality side crushing anything in their path.

The reality is very different, they are a well drilled, disciplined side getting generally outplayed on a regular basis but having a couple of match winners in fine form in what is an absolute shambles of a premier league where all the top sides have been nothing short of disgraceful in any tournament they have been involved in this season.
