Managed correctly this squad should have easily managed top 4 this season.

Next season, if we add a CB and forward player (CM would be a bonus as well) I would expect a challenge for the league.

I am not blaming the manager for everything as the players need to take part of the blame as well. You can see what LVG is trying to do but he can't get the players to perform. As we all know it's far easier to replace the managed and get the right one and we'll be right back up there IMO.

Bloody hell not you as well. Please tell me what he is trying to do as none of the seasoned ex-pros can see it either. The players taking blame yes but the fact they have to do this shows me they aren't good enough.
The likes of Evra/Rio/Vidic/Pally/Bruce/Ince/Robbo/Keane/Becks/Scholes/Giggs etc may take blame after a defeat but they always bounced back and came back stronger. we are weak now with no leadership and not enough passion or desire. The very least required of a Man United player !!

I'm not arguing we've been nearly as good as them ffs. They have been far superior to us all season. That isn't because they have a first team or squad of world class players and ours are in comparison poor.

Their squad is no better than ours man-for-man. We do not need and would not benefit from a complete squad overhaul. That is not the root of our problems.

Nobody has said a complete squad overhaul but we certainly need better quality players at CB/CM/CF for starters !!

Yes OP, United are sheittte at the mo. The club needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom.

The decision making people at the club don't have a clue about football. They are also pathetically indecisive and weak to do the right thing when the right desicions are staring at their face.

We are also burdened with a senile past it manager who should have been put out of his misery four months ago.

Half of the United squad are mediocre dross. Other half consists of bunch of youngsters who could be become top players or mediocre ones. We have spend 320m in three seasons but fail to buy a single world class players with that money. Our only WC player will likely leave next summer.

So we are utter crap, there is no point in deluding ourselves that we are not. United need to start making right appointments and start making some smart purchases ASAP if we are to avoid doing a Liverpool. Sadly, I don't trust the United hierarchy to make one good desicion, let alone series of good desicions in quick succession.

On paper and on the pitch are two very different things, Leicester may not have the "On paper" squad, but their organisation is excellent. Ours in in shambles, and some fine players are being ruined in the process. A good (no, we need a great) manager and only a couple signings and we're in good affair. But presently we're far from that.

I think we should go with Barry's suggestion: buy Leicester's first team for domestic football and Atletico's for European football next season.
