An England match was always a massive deal for me - But now I'm not really that bothered - has the magic gone from an England match or has my magic for England gone?

That's a real shame and quite rightly not worth a cap but that's football unfortunately. Hope he recovers quickly but I'd say that's his Euro chances done. Real shame.

Sure is a shame for the player and a potential disaster for Stoke. Just doesn't seem right to me.

I know but how do players get chances if they don't play in friendlies? It's unfortunate but what else can they do?

Its partly hos own fault for trying to carry on with it

I seem to remember Stuart Pearce walking off the pitch with a fractured leg.

He knew, you could see that, but was too proud to kick it out.

Oh really, I didn't see it so fair enough. That was stupid then.

Shame for him, but it obviously means a lot. Unfortunately it meant he was at fault for their goal, and probably aggravated it and is now out for months

Was it the first goal? I saw him holding something after he dived but couldnt work out how that injured him so assumed it must have happened later? How did he actually get hurt?

Not sure but he was carrying it before the goal. Ball came to him and instead of kicking it fpr treatment, but he cleared it and winced. They won it back and scored

I have always thought that friendlies should not be during the season and given it was only two games, these could easily have taken place between the end of the season and the start of the Euros. I re-watched the Butland incident and he fractured it in clearing the ball as the second the damaged foot hit the ground he went down on a knee. He then got up to respond to a threat but the German lad took advantage and Butland just couldn't get to it. It all happened within the space of a few seconds, just bad luck as you say.
