The "Journey"

Highs and Lows? Top 3, I think we need 2 categories for this.

Footballing Highs

1 - 6-2 against Hibs in first game of season. It was predicted that we would get hammered again by Hibs, they done us 3 times in the league and beat us in one of the play off games. New manager, new players, it was the toughest possible start. to bounce back after going a goal down to absolutely romp them in their own turf laid down a marker. It gave the team and the support the shot in the arm it badly needed. We have never looked back.

2 - Has to be the 4-2 win over Hibs at Christmas, they had done very well to peg back the lead we built up early doors. We had been poor for weeks by dropping points to Morton then losing to Falkirk. Going a goal down too, the players didn't panic and kept going and 2 great goals by Holt turned it on it's head, a 3rd by Clark and despite Fyvie cheating to get Halliday sent off and Hibs pulling one back, Waghorn scored a magnificent solo goal to settle it once and for all and Ibrox erupted. We were able to kick on again and got back to top form

3 - Beating Motherwell 2-0 in League Cup a few months after demotion. We weren't the best that night, ironically it was a forced substitution which changed the game when Sandaza got his face caved in which meant McCulloch went up front with Hutton in midfield. The motherwell fans were giving it big licks, they expected to win and we put them in their place

Lows

1- losing to Annan at Ibrox. I don't really need to go into depth on this one.

2 - Losing the Ramsdens final to Raith. awful team selections from bringing players in from cold like Hutton and Smith, to burning out players like Wallace, Daly and Law by not giving them a rest in the deid rubber leagues games prior as title had been wrapped up long before. Wallace went off injured and missed the semi final of SC a week later to DU. McCoist should have been sacked on the spot after that game (he should have been sacked a long time before to be fair). To add insult, the players and manager had a sash bash back at ibrox. A slap in the face to our support

3 - Getting pumped 4-0 off Hibs, for me it was the end of days at that point. The AGM had been and it looked like nothing would ever change, we had that idiot mcdowall in charge and promotion was long gone. made them look like Brazil.

Off Field Highs

1. Winning the EGM in March 2015. without it, we wouldn't be celebrating today, we wouldn't have a stable club with the right people running it, we wouldn't have Mark Warburton, we prob wouldn't own ibrox or auchenhowie. The most single important event in our 144 year history that wasn't football related or the disaster.

2. keeping our titles, goold old lord nimmo smith, he knew the score, Rangers FC were to keep their titles despite the SPL attempt to take everything. that week was capped off by thousands of tims falling for a fake photshop showing what looked like LNS in the Rangers directors box after the verdict was announced.

3. winning the big tax case, the first one, we were in the midst of getting it from all angles, the football was $hite, we were stuck in division 3 and to be fair to them, the tims were doing very well in Europe. We had nothing to brag about, we were told it was only a matter of time before the verdict would come in and we'd be stripped of everything. Alex Thompson's salty tears never tasted so good

Off Field Lows

1 - The 2014 AGM.

2 - Ashley trying to steal our stadium and training complex

3 - David Somers, the 2 Greenock thugs and Derek Llambias all on our board. A fooking disgrace and I hope they are one day held accountable for what they did and allowed to happen.

While Scott Allan warmed the Benches,
Holt & Halliday were in the trenches,
As CFC complained of stenches,
Waggy and Mckay destroyed defences

Classic!

It was reading about the destroyed benches that reminded me.🤣
