Just looking ahead to the start of the test match summer..and looking back at the last test match in SA. the top 6 was Cook Hales Compton Root Taylor and Stokes..
There is at least 3 places up for grabs.. we know sadly Taylor had to retire.. Hales is under pressure.. doesnt look an opener to me unfortunatly.. then theres Compton at 3..
So be interesting to see what happens in the first test match. Its likely England will stick with Hales and Compton.
England's batting line up

I expect Ball to come back in maybe at 5.
Compton and Hales deserve the start of the user possibly swapping positions.
Batting is a week spot at the moment Ballance and Vince are the next cabs of the rank.
Then you have Lee's who is one I expect in the team soon.
After that you have some very promising youngsters whose time may be further down the line...Abell Lawrence BellDrummond Hain Clarke Leaning

This would be a good time took at some batsmen who have not been tested yet.

If bell is to come back he needs to bat at 5. If hes pushed to 3 then there is no point. He played his best cricket at 5 so keep him at that spot.
Such a shame about Taylor only just got back into the test team was was doing well in the ODIs. Hopefully he still has a place in cricket.

Lyth 100 yesterday and Robson also notched up a century - won't do their cause any harm

Lyth isn't a Test batsmen. Some people just are not. Ramprakash is a classic example. Scored for fun in the County game, found wanting at Test level.

Lyth and Bairstow have just plundered tons for the Tykes, with Bairstow clattering 274!

Robson is an interesting one. He scores big.
If he has addressed the technical issues he's back in.
