Jinxed much? The Robb factor

Jurgen klopp seems a decent enough guy. I was not too happy on him becoming liverpool manager as I wanted him to do well....however, Robb's effusive praise of Klopp ended any doubts I had of liverpool doing well in the near future.

Not every manager must suffer this fate. Only those who are deemed worthy by Robb to be United managers as opposed to the current incumbent are the ones who are at higher risk. These include both flavor of the month types (Martinez, Koeman etc) and seasoned campaigners (Klopp).

The current Robb campaign for (read: against) Mourinho makes one wonder....

So will Robb's luck finally change? Or are we fated to have Mourinho takeover and then be afflicted with the 'jinx'?

In your face Dink. Even MuDD agrees with me

doesnt mean he didnt originally say it and then change his tune... although to be fair i can never remember him doing something like that before

Robb telling lies again. I have not bigged up Martinez other than pointing out that he had won a major trophy.

On Liverpools squad. I would say it is in a much worse shape than ours.

The only other explanation would be that LVG is a better manager than Klopp.

i would agree their squad is in worse shape, but a) arguably it is more easily fixable (decent LB and decent GK should set you back £25-30m the pair) and b) we don't yet know how easily klopp could improve it, given a decent transfer budget. but we do know that with a relativel small budget at dortmund he got a team to the CL final, and we also know that, having been given a sizeable budget, LVG hasn't improved united dramatically.

for all the above, klopp in the league has been a tiny bit underwhelming.

True but i think he prioritized the Europa over the league. Even by doing that his side scored more goals than anyone else after Christmas.

if he fixes his defence - and he's already securd Matip, they look more likely to succeed next season than us unless we sort ourselves out this summer.

I agree. There is something about the way Klopp plays that seem to see Liverpool losing games they should not.

i never agree that it is easy to fix a defence - people used to say the same about rodgers, if only he can sort the defence etc etc - but it is at least cheaper to buy players, top CBs are £30-40m, top strikers £60-100m.

so if he gets it right, and there is no guarantee of that of course, he ought to be able to improve that defence a lot with a relatively small spend - eg butland and bertrand, job done.

Liverpool and Klopp without Europe next season will be very dangerous IMO. We've seen this season with Leicester how not having European distractions can help league form.

Kenny Dalglish came in a similar time and got Liverpool to lose 2 cup finals winning 1 while increasing league form to an average level. Klopp gets to 2 cup finals loses both and maintains average league form. Dalglish got sacked for poor league form.

I agree with hafi.

Let him sign some players first then we see how good he is. Lack of Europe will give them a boost the league, how much of it will be the question

Th way his teams play will work against him in the premises. Fatigue will set in at some point except he adds significantly to the squad
