E&S Poll

General view is unsurprisingly that people aren't happy with last season, but quite a wide and sometimes contradictory range of views on the blame.

Certainly seems far more negativity towards Moxey than Morgan, which is a view I share. And a split view on Jackett which reflects the many mistakes he made last season but also the many reasons why most managers would have found it difficult to be successful and/or play good football with the hand he was dealt.

the difference with derby is that they finished in the top 6 and missed out on today's final by 1 goal. wolves had a miserable season and were never in contention.

if we were close to looking like a decent team and a well run club then maybe everything would sit with the manager. but the truth is, wolves have looked badly run for 5 years or more with a series of terrible decisions...the timing of MM's sacking, the dismissal of bruce only to give the job to a sub-par coach with no experience, the bizarre experiment with SS, crazy dean saunders, a second back to back relegation, the bomb squad contracts, the inability or unwillingness to retain decent players, the clear policy to try to do things on the cheap by selling the best of the squad and buying low level replacements, hiring a man to lead on player recruitment who has been responsible for millions spent on a squad most of whom are not top championship players and most of whom we've almost immediately loaned back to 3rd or 4th div sides...little of that is KJ's fault.

what we see on the pitch is down to jackett, and that's not been good enough either, but let's not pretend we are even competing with derby or brighton in terms of club stability and growth...and does anyone believe wolves' crazy suggestion that we're going to continue to reduce costs in the squad whilst setting top 6 as a minimum expectation?

jackett has said himself that he has the final say on recruitment .......... so all of it is his fault.

The sooner this club gets sold, the better. A new broom should shake things up.

I would like to think the manager does have the final say on transfers but Wolves are always keen to reiterate that he isn't the manager he is the coach. And that leads me to believe he is asked to play with whoever he is presented with. There have been many rumours that the working relationship he has with Thelwell is not great. And between the three of them with Moxey what we know for sure is whatever the process is for choosing players, it isn't working. And as gb says it hasn't worked well since long before Jackett arrived

so you think jackett is lying ?

I recall the Express and Star poll when appointing the successor to Mick.

Bruce didn't get a look-in due to having a head like a King Edward.

Keeping your manager never works, according to some on 'ere.

we know KJ has lied about a number of things...or at least, he's said things which turned not to be true

anyway, having the final say on who we sign is not the same as being fully responsible for signings...

"Kenny, I've lined up a deal for connor coady, do you want him? I've got nobody else to sign between now and the end of the window"

"yea, OK then"

"hi, this is kevin thelwell. yes, we'd love to spend £2m on yr lower championship level midfielder please. what's that? he's slow, run's like he's shat his pants and never gets out of his own half...? meh, that's ok, he'll play for less than £10,000 per week."

above example shows one way that KJ has final say in signing but isn't solely responsible for who we sign, and is in no way responsible for the fee or contract.

I'm sure Morgan, Moxey, Jackett and Thelwell are all guilty of some role in what players we end up signing or lining up and then not signing. How the process works is open to speculation but I suspect the soap opera gb has written is pretty close to the truth

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is exactly how I think the process works except I think he probably gets a list of unsuitable players to choose from and that way when he selects the least unsuitable player and they are still useless he shoulders more of the blame.
