Everytime I see Pogba play, it just makes me wonder how Fergie managed to mess this one up? How did a manager who was such an advocate for giving young players chances regardless of their age manage to give Pogba such little playing time?
Physically he has always been flawless, Big, strong and quick
Technically he's clearly a world beater
So was it a case of he didn't think he was mentally ready? I find that extremely difficult to believe considering Pogba went straight into Juve's first XI and shone brighter than even martial has done for us in his first season.
4 years on and he's the most valuable CM in world football who will easily demand a world transfer fee. Surely this is Fergie's greatest mistake during his 25 years at the helm?
What didn't Fergie see in Pogba?

Maybe Pogba just wanted to leave United for what he might consider a better city and way of life. He's hardly beating down the door to come back to England.
Saf obviously didn't think he had the right attitude and while us fans might moan about players like Pogba going we have to give SAF the benefit of the doubt. He deserves it for all the good he did with the youth.

Juve are pretty good at them tbh, Pogba, Coman, Pirlo, Alves, Llorente, Khedira

Everytime I watch him play I wait and wait and wait for the brilliance and have yet to ever see it.
Maybe I'm just unlucky.

Fergie consistently put attitude first. It's why he sold Beckham and Van Nistleroy and why he wanted Rooney gone. That's how you build a dynasty instead of a couple of trophies

He did rate him and wanted to renew I thought. It was more he fell out with the agent (who is also Zlatans, or was) and felt he was the reason Pogba signed for Juventus.

I can't think of any better free signings than Pogba in recent years.

I have mixed feelings on this.
Part of the problem was SAF's desire to have a gigantic first team squad, to the detriment of youngsters. He was also overly sentimental towards a number of senior players who were little better than average at the time.
However, I also think people need to bear in mind that Pogba was not in amazing form during that period. Whilst he sometimes looked pure class in the reserves, he was often anonymous too. While he had very few first team opportunities, he looked decidedly average in those as well.
SAF didn't want to lose Pogba, he just wanted him to be patient and await his chance. Pogba's meteoric rise in Italy was a bit of a surprise imo because his improvement in form was virtually instant which not many people expected.
