England team for next match

Simple question, what would you do and why? Give your players you'd choose, formation and brief tactics.

I'd go
Hart
Rose Cahill Smalling Bertrand
Dier
Rooney Wilshere
Sterling Vardy Sturridge

Defence to be effective and full backs forward to support attack but not all out attacking. Dier as main defensive midfielder but Rooney and Wilshere are both capable of getting back and helping, even if they can pick up the odd booking. Sterling and Sturridge would probabbly need to get back a bit as well.

It does of course require Wilshere proving his fitness is improving as well, but he wasnt helped by his team mates last time as most times he looked to play a pass they had gone into hiding.

Going forward Wilshere and Rooney are both capable of playmaking or joining the attack when play is on the other side of the pitch. I've got Sturridge on the basis he added a lot when he came on against Wales and Sterling as he can pass players, but he needs someone to link up with him. We need a bit of pace as well.

Everyone would be told to work for the team, including off the ball, looking to make options for passes and wanting the ball.

He gets in great positions tbf.
Don't see the point of Vardy against deep defending tho.

He'll poach a goal if he gets a chance. See his goal against Wales.

He wasn't offside...he wlda been...so he got lucky that or came off Williams.

I think I am no.4' line up is about fair....if llalana cld finfish he'd be having a cracking tournament....felt he was hard done by coming off the other night.

And just because lallana says he's going to improve that's ok is it? Listen he works hard and I actually like his ability but it's tournament footy. We played 3 games and it's nearly cost us missing chances. We only have a few opportunities left

No that's not what I said.

He said he knows he needs to improve by getting the ball in the back of the net.

Point is he's been one of the, if not the, most creative players in our first 3 matches. That's cause for optimism. Plus he is also aware that he isn't the finished product, unlike some, and there's area for improvement.

If sooner have a player on the pitch like him s opposed to Sterling for example.

Nevermind Lallana.
What the fluck has Rooney or Alli done to deserve to be shoe ins for this England team ?
DId OK getting a draw, against a makeshift midfield, in a team that turned out to be one of the worst teams in the competition, Russia.
Did OK against a Welsh team who for god knows what reason showed England way too much respect, yet it still took two substitutions and an injury time goal to win that game.
Did the sum total of fluck all when they both came on for half an hour against Slovakia, with Rooney wildly finding touch with his first three or four attempted long balls and crosses, and Alli struggling with basic ball control.
By all means pick your teams based on who you favour, but lets not pretend many are there on pure merit.

With Iceland and Eidur to face how many left supporting Engerland is the question, particularly from a Chelsea perspective...?

As to above ... dimsum and more poor merit please!

Interesting that the more heated debate right now is who should start out of walker and Clyne because of how well they have both been performing recently but you decide to not play either and play Rose at right back

Hart
Walker Smalling Cahill Rose
Dier
Rooney Alli
Sturridge Kane Lallana

Bring Vardy on if we need a goal

Kane doesn't deserve to start on form, same as Hart. Vardy does though for me and Forster deserves a chance. Leaving Kane out might snap him into life for the next round, but keeping him in sure won't win us this one based on his tournament so far.
