So, another Match Thread is brought to you from sunny Sydney...where the women never smile. The sport is awful, the beer is way too expensive and the inherited wealth means you'll be renting for the rest of your life....or, get used to a 3 hour commute.

Who'd have though there would have been a home win and goals galore. I did!

Comical defending, a brace from Britt, an injury for DDV, Pereira's running, Kasami's influence. Burke could have had three....and Burton could have had about ten. Never mind, we won. On the opening day of the season, we won. It was entertaining, frustrating, promising and worrying.

It looks like its going to be a good season.

So....onto Donny. The DR of Yorkshire come into this on the back of a 3-2 loss away to Accrington Stanley. An even game by the sounds of it, before Chris Eagles set up a late winner.

My prediction? A 3-1 win. I think if Veldwijk plays, he'll score. It'll be good for his confidence against lower league opposition and will hopefully allow him to step up to the level that is really required. Championship level. He won't start though.

It's a risky set-up obviously. Most of those players haven't played regularly, or even together, but, it's the Cup. To be honest, i'd rather get knocked out by Donny and then beat Brighton. If we keep all of our squad then its obviously beneficial to remain in it, to keep players on the fringes interested and match fit.

I'll still be unemployed by the Brighton game so if anyone wants to do the match thread then get in quick!
