The Return of the King

It seems that Vincent Kompany is on the mend and back in training.

The thought occurred to me that Stones is clearly a player that Guardiola admires and fits in with his ethos of playing out from the back. Barring an absolute disaster and loss of form I can't see him losing his place when Kompany becomes available.

This brings us onto Otamendi. I have been genuinely impressed with him so far. He is far removed from the player we saw last season and has, in my opinion cemented a claim to stay in the starting XI.

Does Kompany go straight back in?

Who makes way then?

What other options are there?

Personally, I think you keep the back 4 settled until a change is required. If one is going to make way it's going to be Otamendi which I think would be harsh.

Thoughts.

I know who rides with Théoden of Rohan. Oh, yes. Words have reached my ears of this Aragorn, son of Arathorn, and I tell you now: I will not bow to this Ranger from the north. Last of a ragged house long bereft of Lordship.

I'd use him for the league cup and weaker European opposition for now and test his fitness out, i'm still not convinced he's totally back....i think he will be our Ledley King sadly.

He'll need to be twice as good as he is now to be your ledley king

Love King Ledley but he never reached the levels of performance that Kompany did between 2010-12

Kompany should wait his turn as long as stones and Otemendi play as they are doing.

I'm sure vinny would be happy for the lads an the team.

Kompany is very good on the ball. Drives forward at pace when he intercepts and starts off attacks.

Not with Otamendi playing the way he has this season.

My name is Otamendi, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!

Vinny is our best CB and he's also Club Captain.

I'd splay him against Bournemouth, possibly as a sub and take it from there.
