Too similar in playing style imo. They play too high up the pitch that we will surely be left open for any good counter attacking side to pick us apart just like how psg did on Tuesday.

For me I would play Holding along with Kos to allow Mustafi sit back and really study Kos' game.

What would Stuart Pearce do? (U3126)
Of course, I think they've got their value. Especially for attackers who are 90% about what they do on the ball. But I think for defenders it's a limited tool as it doesn't capture non-tangibles like marking and positioning. That requires proper old-fashioned scouting.

While Holding has performed quite well, he’d probably learn more from watching Kos and Mustafi form a partnership (who look to be AW’s preferred CB pairing).

I understand most (PL) clubs use wearable GPS / positional analytics too. Coupled with tech that can monitor fatigue etc.
Unsure how much of the fitness data is confined to training, or to what extent it is used during competitive matches mind you.

One of the most underappreciated things about Per is his positioning and organising the defence. Kos is very rash in his style of play and Per is the opposite and mops up after other defenders. Last season we conceded one goal more than the lowest in the league. Per was a major contributor to that.

Why is the old idiot Wenger not able to coach one of them to change his game? That's part of what he gets paid £8M a year for. To coach and improve players ffs.
The likes of Ox, Theo, Jack W have stagnated or even regressed because he has been unable or unwilling to coach them on how to improve their game. Let's face it the only player who has really improved under Wenger has been TH14.

Not Vieira, Petit, Anelka, Cole, Fabregas, Overmars, Lauren, Sagna, etc?
Even players like Adams, Bould and Dixon said he improved their game.
Very strange comment.

If you watched Kos in the euros he played as the withdrawn Cb and will do so now he is in his thirties. His game has changed significantly but you wouldnt notice with all your Wenger out articles.
Playing with Mertesacker has clamed Kos down a bit.I am not even worried about the partnership of kos and mustafi.2 very good defenders who will get better as a pair.
the concern is the fullbacks and the forward press which is non existant

We can play a high line as both have good pace but it will be for nothing if our forwards and midfielders don't press as a unit.
Knowing how we rarely seem to get the tactical side of the game right I'm not exactly confident we'll see anyone bar Sanchez pressing the opposition...
