Headphones

Off topic, apologies.

Need some advice.

Due to the iPhone 7 being a bit different. In need of some new headphones. Would need to be wireless and ideally noise cancelling, would be a good bonus. Appreciate Bose is probably the best in the market for something like this but I cant justify spending 300 on a pair of headphones. Ideal price range would be 100. Anyone know of any good one's they can recommend?

Currently looking at the Sony Sony MDR-ZX770BN Wireless and Noise Cancelling Headphones, reviews tend to be good but apparently its noise cancelling is pony.

Thanks in advance.

It's like why do you pay for an expensive TV or an expensive car..

Not remotely comparable.

Why isn't it?

Sell on value

Actual use

Longevity

Value for Money

The same principle applies even if it's not for the same sums of money.

People buy expensive headphones because they want the best even though it might not actually be the best. It may just be marketed very well.

Same for TV and Cars.

TBF, the sound quality difference between a £15 pair or earphones and a £100 pair is very noticeable. The comfort and longevity usually is too.

However a £100 and a £300 pair, it's not so easy to tell imo.

My biggest bugbear with all this is the forced upgrade cycle. I've got an iPad 2 that's on its last legs because it can't run IOS9 particularly well. If I'd left it on IOS 7 it'd still be great, except a lot of apps won't run on it.

The features you got with 9 and 10 aren't really enough to make me want a new iPad to run them, but the experience is crap now, so I'm going to have to.

I'm sure it's the same on droids.

Nah

Android's not the same

System updates manage to deal with that stuff

Apple have got you guys locked in

I assume you mean if you root your phone or tablet and do the upgrades yourself. Carriers won't release updates for a Galaxy S3 or S4 any more, so by definition some software won't run on them. Same thing.
