... thy name is football. I watched the U-23 game last night against Wolfsburg, a very good game of football. They scored the winner in the 89th minute; a draw would have been more fair, but that's football.
I thought the Young Reds played very well against a physically bigger and better team. It's the first time I've seen Woodburn play - he's only 16 ???? - what a talent for that age. Both Wilson and Cameron Brannigan payed very well, they each should have scored, but despite their misses, they each got into final positions in a way well beyond their years. Not wishing to be the kiss of death, I hope they each make it to the first team and develop from there.
Connor Randall for me was one of the stars. He's a no-nonsense RB who knows what he has to do. Again, hopefully, a future first team man.
Playing his first game since April, Mamoud. The big man played very well indeed, and it was great to see him back. He deserved the full support from the crowd. Can he make it back to the first team? He's dropped down the pecking order, but on last nights performance, despite his near suicidal comments on social media, I'd say give the man a chance.
The main point is that the club are producing from within, developing future first team players and that can only be good.
