A lot has been made over the financial gap between the two clubs this season and of course, off the pitch the resources and money available to both clubs is no where near a level field at this stage.
That said, lets have a look at what both clubs have spent this summer so far and is it a case we are yet to see Celtic flex the financial muscle that we have and realistically Rangers have made a massive erse of it and blew what they had on the wrong type and certainly wrong player himself.
Celtic's summer signings as follows:
Scott Sinclair - £3.5 million
Moussa Dembele - £500,000
Dorus De Vries - £500,000
Christian Gamboa - £400,000
Kolo Toure - Free
Total of £4.9 million spent.
Rangers summer sigings:
Joe Garner - £1.8 million
Matt Crooks - Development fee
Jordan Rossiter - Development fee
Josh Windass - Development fee
Joe Dodoo - Development fee
Lee Hodson - Undisclosed
Niko Krancjar - Free
Joey Barton - Free
Phillipe Senderos - Free
Matt Gilks - Free
Now I don't believe it's unreasonable to suggest the development fee's in total probably amount to around £750,000 to £1 million and then the undisclosed fee of Hodson probably wasn't past the £100,000 mark.
Total of around close to £3 million.
Given that the gap appears to be only £1.9 million at this stage, is it a case that we are yet to see the real gap and Rangers fans may be slightly concerned at us pulling away even further in January and the summer of 2017?
I think when you see the breakdown above the excuse of financial gap isn't as evident in terms of dealings and questions could be asked of the recruitment at Rangers.

most of these players were signed for a couple hundred thousand.
but lets stop comparing on money being well spent etc, as you can't compare, the needs are different.

True - it was the nonsense about rossiter - a player who hasnt kicked a ball in scottish top fligjt football - will be worth 2.5m with some rangers games under his belt. Mental.
Wallace might MIGHT get 2m. Tavernier 1.5 The rest nowhere near these. They are completly unproven in top flight football.
