Dpl v Stevenage

Evening all!

Well well well, the destiny to go top of the league is in our own hands. Our game in hand, no other rivals playing, WHAT an opportunity!

Hopefully the lads and fergie continue the good football that's been served up over the last few weeks and the M and M partnership continues to terrorise league 3 defences!

An excellent and much deserved win last week against Orient gained our just rewards. But for the crossbar and another strong penalty shout we could have come away with 6 goals!

Rovers to win 3-1 with Mandeville to continue his fine form and scoring first and a crowd of 2888

Well, TF for the final whistle.
Top of the league and 42 goals scored but DF really does need to get the defence sorted out.
To put it into perspective, four of the bottom five have conceded less than we have.
It is really hard being a Rovers fan.

Missing mccullock hound?

Not sure Lanza.
I think that McCullough is at his best in the position that Houghton plays so if Houghton is here next season it would be difficult for LM to get into the team.
He is also a similar player to Baudrey so with the current set of players he wouldn't find it easy to get a shirt, as good a player as he is.
If we do go up i reckon Houghton will be here next season if he is a free agent and we can afford his wages, otherwise i think a Championship team would be in for him.
That would get LM back in the team.

The highlights showed Stevenage as a fast attacking force in the second half and Rovers had difficulty in matching them with the inevitable results. Indeed towards the end if Rovers had possessed their energy they might have had enough left to convert one or two of their counter-attacks.

I was not able to listen to the commentary, but Rovers looked far less fluid in attack than last week despite the 3 goals in the first half, so altogether we might have been a trifle fortunate to get the win.

I have not read the press reports about the players being a bit disappointed with the performance afterwards, but there will be more than just the odd thing to work on this week if they are to give a good account of themselves next Saturday.

Is anyone going?

BVZ: How was the Scottish PL game? I see Forrester came on for Rangers as a sub.

As you probably remember Hound I always liked LM .
I couldn't work out why he wasn't popular and also why it took so long for him to play in front of back
4.More comfortable on the ball than Houghton and more adventurous passing which I always respect

Hi Donaldo.
Azza went up to Ibrox on Saturday. I've not been out for a few weeks due to the op. Had all the clips removed today so can finally start to get out n about. Hopefully get a game in before end of year.

Sorry to get confused BVZ. It must have been an uncomfortable time for you since the op, but let's hope you'll be back to normal soon, although you don't want to rush things.

It's at times like these that getting a seat at a football match is quite important. I don't think I ever sat down at a match before I was 50, but I'm not sure I could stand now for 90 minutes plus even though walking for several hours at a stretch is no problem.

I've always preferred to stand at a football match myself Donaldo. Spent a few games watching from the big soft leather ones in East stand though. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my old self, but a little bit wiser, and steadier
