I really dont understand why some fans complain and mumble about us getting Bayern. I have heard words like "fixed" and "UEFA cheating again" and imo only a pathetic fan would say such things.
Can one of such fans explain to me why exactly we qualify and play in the CL every season? Isn't the aim of playing in the CL to win it? And to my understanding the very best teams in europe play in this competition and the aim is to beat the top teams to be awarded the title. Are these fans saying that we practically break our backs to qualify every season just to make up the numbers? Because that is the impression i get whenever we get drawn against a top team at this stage and the bickering and anti-UEFA rants begin.
Last season we got a relatively smaller team and lost so how are we even sure that if we were given a smaller team this time around we would qualify for the last 16.
I only hope our players dont have this defeatist and losers' mentality so we can even have a chance against Bayern.
If we know that we kill ourselves to qualify for the CL only for the sake of participating without any real belief in winning it then imo we should take a season's (or two) break so other more serious teams can qualify and try to win it. We would actually need the break. Look at chelsea players.
Why do we play the CL every season???

You Sir have obviously no clue about the Football business. It's all about money. 😕

I believe football is an entertainment business
And seeing my Arsenal play vs the very best on the planet is something I'd dearly miss if we resorted to the level of playing Stoke, Middlesbough & West Brom week on week

Everyone knows that to win the competition we'll have to play at least one of the big boys. It's just that most people would rather face them in the semi final than in the last 16. A relatively easy draw in the last 16 can greatly increase the chance of at least reaching the semi final. For example last year real madrid played roma in the last 16 and Wolfsburg in the quarters to reach the semis

Exactly. And once you're in the semis the chance of winning the whole thing is a lot greater
