because klopp doesn't want players who move for money, so milner agreed to waive any salary (and signing on fee) and was genuinely completely free. unlike zlatan.

Yep. No such thing as a 'free' transfer really. What a team saves on transfer fee they'll often spend on the player over the duration of his contract. Although in Ibra's case, its just a 1 year contract.

Liverpool fans would probably describe Milner and Matip as free transfers, even though their contracts are likely to be worth more than the one Ibra has.

Can't agree merry, workrate, goalthreat, amazing passing range, strong, defensively very good, good in the air. Left foot right foot. Can't find a fault in his game. If he played for utd or arsenal in that time he would have been rated much higher

I understand you didn't pay a transfer fee. I'm sure if you actually bother to read what I said you'd understand. As a player who will get paid £12m a season, I find it funny described as a free transfer. Shall I break it down a little bit more for you little buddy?

Ballack would've been a bigger influential figure for United or Arsenal because both teams,especially us with Keane going,lacked abit of a strong mentality and leader in the middle of the pitch.
Scholes was becoming a deep midfielder at the time and being paired with a slightly younger,goalscoring midfielder in Ballack would've been a seemless transition and generally a good fit.

I think at the time we were favourites to sign him before Chelsea came in,think it was Beckenbauer who admitted our interest.But we couldn't offer the same wage and the rest is history.

Though I still dont think Ballack was a priority signing where Chelsea were concerned.
