Head-to-head
Liverpool have won four of their last five Premier League games against Manchester City, including the last three.
Manchester City are winless in their last 14 league and cup games away to Liverpool (D5, L9).
Their last win at Anfield was a 2-1 victory in May 2003, when Nicolas Anelka scored twice for City.
The Reds have scored in each of their last 22 top-flight home matches in this fixture.
Liverpool
Liverpool are unbeaten in 16 league matches at Anfield (W10, D6).
If they win against City, their total of 43 points will set a new club Premier League record for most points after 19 matches, beating their tally of 42 from 2008-09.
The Reds have netted 86 league goals in 2016, their most in a calendar year since hitting 87 in 1985.
Jurgen Klopp lost four of eight managerial meetings with Pep Guardiola during their spells in charge of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich respectively.
Klopp's only league win against Guardiola was 3-0 away in April 2014, although Bayern had already secured the Bundesliga title by then.
Manchester City
Manchester City have won three consecutive league games for the first time since beginning the season with six straight wins.
They have scored at least two goals in eight of their nine away league matches this season. The only exception was the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.
City could keep consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time under Guardiola.
Sergio Aguero has failed to score in all seven of his previous appearances at Anfield (five for Manchester City, two for Atletico Madrid).
Kevin De Bruyne has provided a league-high nine assists this campaign, only one short of his final total from last season.

I don't think 5th will get more than 78pts.
That would absolutely unprecented (usually not more than 70).
35 pts to go for us.
Not that I am targeting 4th.
We are one of the best two teams in the league IMO.
Beating Chelsea is unlikely, but let's see how they react to not winning a game (which will happen sooner or later).

We were the better team in the first half, City dominated the ball in the second but we will still looked the more dangerous team to score on the counter in that too.
Not a single clear cut chance in the game for either team, Gini's goal was a half chance and a brilliant header.
Definitely deserved the win though, we were the more aggressive team in the first half when it mattered and defended very well in the second.
We were under real pressure from 50-60 mins but saw it off and the last 15 was excellent game management from us, ran down the clock immensely well.
My MOTM was Klavan, remarkable performance up against Aguero having been booked in the 4th minute. Still no Anfield goal for Sergio, the boy just can't hack the emotion of scoring against his boyhood club's iconic stadium.

Of course Utd and Spurs are looking better, Europa is on sabbatical.
I personally feel the chances of us not finishing top 4 after acquiring 43 pts in half a season must be about 10%. We probably only need 11 wins from 19 games, maybe even less.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doubt we'd even need that to be honest. 9 wins and 5 draws would have us on 75 points
