Gary Rowett

So the rumour machine springs to life with The Mirror reporting we are lining up Gary Rowett as soon as the takeover is complete. Although I for one would welcome this I also think it has come to a sad state of affairs when clubs line up a new manager before the old manager has been told of his demise. I understand that speed is of the essence in some cases but there clearly is no longer any loyalty amongst managers these days. Like I say this is paper talk at the moment but if this were to happen I think it could be the best thing that has happened to the club in a long while. Also feel a bit sad for PM as I thought he could have done a decent job for us as well. A nice guy he is but that does not put points on the boards and we need to act now. Your thoughts?

Other way of looking at it is new progressive ambitious owners vs dysfunctional Hull City owners who barely wanted to be in the premiership, had no manager come the start of the season and offered last minute minimal backing, and are almost nailed on to get relegated!!

Hull seem to have someone else lined up

Can't be true Ray. We've been told by Derby fans he's going to Hull.

Marco Silva to Hull, so Rowett remains available.

I'm not taking the P but I would think his stock is a bit higher than taking the poisoned chalice that is Forest at the moment; might well think again once the takeover's through but to work for Fawaz..? Would you, if you were him?

No major decisions relating to contracts etc will be made before the take over is complete, unless both parties agree otherwise. It's unlikely PM will be sacked before then, and any talks would likely informal and with the potential new regime.

In other words, he'd never technically work for Fawaz.

According to the Nottingham Post we're waiting for Fawaz to pretty much sign the last bits off now.

Oh and I also agree with your point about Fawaz, people with stock much lower that Rowett would likely think twice about it

No

The only job I'd for Fawaz is to help him pack up and/or give him a lift to the airport. I'd not want paying much but would need to see evidence of a one way ticket

Yeah I can't see us getting Rowett until takeover is confirmed and even then it'd depend on our league position and whether there is time in transfer window to improve the squad.
