Some of these might have been snapped up already (I don't know how up to date this site is) but, realistically (I'd love to have Michael Essien or Frank Lampard!) who would you like to have at the club? Wages are obviously a big issue, and I like where Fergie is heading with players for the future, but there's also the here and now to consider and any positions you think need strengthening with experience. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/vertragslosespieler There's a fair few decent left-backs... I wonder if Alexander Büttner could be convinced to come and play in Sunny Donny.

Some of the names are vaguely familiar, but the great majority are not British and I had my fill of what some called foreign mercenaries when we witnessed the disastrous "Experiment" heralding John Ryan's demise as our saviour.
Financial stability and sensible management are now in place and I would be very worried to see any big names introduced. The policy of careful selection of players with potential from modest backgrounds seems to be working. I don't think that you can buy success at any level unless you are prepared to pay comparatively astronomical prices both to acquire and pay the salaries of the players in question. You also tend to hire them on their terms rather than the club's and that rarely works.
