Swindon V Posh

In a week when the Brexit rot started, can Posh stop the rot against Swindon?

Last season we went bosoms up after our FA Cup defeat. We started the same way last week. A win against Swindon will change all that, so I'm hopeful.

Despite an open transfer window, we still have Maddison, who, as far as I am concerned, is our best player. He must start on Saturday (he didn't against Bury): and our defence MUST tighten up.

Good luck lads - onwards and upwards, please!

Brexit, TP, the second best thing to have happened to this country last year.
The EU is as corrupt as Fifa and Uefa, We are better off without it.

Brexit and Farage's mate Trump - the terrible twins. The last time right wing populism came to the fore, Hitler came to power

Incidentally, TF, the EU is not corrupt, and some would say that Farage and the other Ukip MEPs were "fraudulent" in collecting their salaries when all they did was seek to undermine the EU and not usefully spend their time representing UK interests and working
towards improving the EU. Fifa is corrupt, but then it can get away with it, being based in a non-EU country like Switzerland (a state that Farage admires).

It's called democracy TP,the people have decided they don't want to dictated to by Brussels, they want to take back control of our laws and borders.
Pity that in many cases it's too late to repair the damage done by a previous prime minister who ruined this country and should have been charged with war crimes.

Hitler's rise to power was also "democratic", TF.

I can't see what is happening in Britain and the US being an improvement upon what we and the Americans had before. Both countries are being led by individual supremacists (helped by a Brit supremacist like Farage) and I neither like nor trust supremacists.

So important that we can air our views, TF. People like Trump will soon be supressing them. Fortunately, we don't have his like (a wealthy bullying businessman) in power in the UK yet - although people like Aaron Banks are investing in it.

UTP this afternoon!

Good stop-the-rot win for the Posh.

If we don't lose our next game, there won't be a repeat of last season, and we'll be back in the promotion race.

Good to see Coulthirst (transferred from the Posh) score on his debut for Mansfield in their win against SCambridge.

"Pope Francis has warned against a rise in populism and the dangers of allowing political crises to usher in dictators like Hitler.

He made the comments as Donald Trump was being sworn-in as US president in a wide-ranging interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais.

The Pope condemned the use of walls and barbed-wire to keep foreigners out.

But he said it was too early to judge the new US leader, saying "we'll see what Trump does".

Asked if he was worried about the rise of populism in Europe and the US, the Pope said: "Crises provoke fear, alarm. In my opinion, the most obvious example of European populism is Germany in 1933.

"Germany is broken, it needs to get up, to find its identity, a leader, someone capable of restoring its character, and there is a young man named Adolf Hitler who says: "I can, I can".

"And all Germans vote for Hitler. Hitler didn't steal the power, his people voted for him, and then he destroyed his people."

On Mr Trump, the Pope said he would "wait and see".

The pair publicly disagreed during the presidential campaign, with Pope Francis appearing to question Mr Trump's Christian faith over his plans to build a border wall with Mexico."
