What is the half season opinion of him? 21 games played so far, and undefeated in everyone. So clearly he's a big influence.
But watching him play, defensively he's average. Koscielny has been the rock. However in the first few games Mustafi played, clean sheet record was good. But conceding stupid penalties every game has made the defense look worse than it really is.
His ball play is actually quite good. Koscielny was our ball player from defense before, and to be honest, he isn't the best. He'd more often than not put the ball out of play. But Mustafi is different, he makes things happen. It seems like with each game, his passing, especially the weight of it is improving. Yesterday he played a really good ball over the top for Ozil. This type of play is what every top team across Europe do well.
There have been people saying Per-Kos is still our best partnership, but they're wrong. Mustafi may not be a better defender than Per, but his mobility and ball playing ability far out weighs the bad.
In order to compete for CL, having ball playing defenders is needed. This partnership is perhaps the best for that in Wenger's reign.

I think he's quality. Being a good ball player is so important these days, and although he has his moments, there are plenty of worse defenders playing in better teams.
We're much better with him in the side. That'll do me.

I think he's class, getting better and better as he settles into a new league/country. Fans of other clubs don't seem to rate him when they speak to me about Arsenal, but I love the guy and will happily defend him.
His passion has been a great highlight for me. I think having Per and Ozil here (plus a core of La Liga players) has really helped him settle and feel at home. As others have mentioned, he really benefits the team and how we play.
Certainly glad that we signed him in the summer. A future captain if he spends the peak of his career here.

Really like him. Reminds me of Kos in his early days with us, but better than he was. Bodes well. Still has some bits of his game to improve but he will get there, already makes us a lot better when he plays.

Sounds like I'm getting massively carried away with that comment... To clarify, I don't think he's as good as Kos or Alderwield at the minute.

Think hes been really good for us bar the odd few games. If our clown of a team stopped giving away neadless pens our defence would actually look like a rock.
