No thanks. They've already been there and they looked like a really good outfit on Sunday. My bet is that they will displace Newcastle over the next 6 games.
Posters say we didn't play well, but we weren't allowed to play. If it wasn't for Green and the defence, it would have been 4 or 5. The problem was that our midfield wilted. You can say in hindsight that we should have made changes earlier, or packed the midfield, but for most of the game, I was thinking we had our best players on the pitch, giving it 100%. I thought it was right to put Vieira in there and he did a great job on Van la Parra in the first half, but once Brown came on, we were chasing shadows. You just have to acknowledge that the Huddersfield midfield is the best in the league.
The positives for us? Wood's goal was beautifully executed. His timing is so good. Pedraza looked really sharp and direct, and Green was immense. Disappointed with the result? Yes, but we won't be facing this kind of quality every week. Well done, Town, and let's rock Elland Road next Saturday.
Huddersfield in the play-offs?

If Town did get promoted, would they buy the players currently on loan? It would obviously depend on the Premier clubs being willing to sell. Hoyle would definitely buy them, knowing the guaranteed parachute payments would kick in if they went back down.
💰
Either way, opportunities like theses don't come often, the players, manager and chairman must give it their best shot trying to gain promotion.

It's now or never..... Literally.
Get there, Then see how they go.
If we do a Burnley, Hull, Boro it doesn't matter, being back in the Championship a season later would see us in a far stronger position to assemble a far better squad to regain & stay in the top league there on...
as mentioned, because of the financial reward's filtering darn.
Just like to mention, This present squad of players ani't too shabby anyway,
We'll see.

I'd fancy this Town squad to survive in the prem. Better than teams like Sunderland. Leeds too.
In fact, any of Brighton, Town, Leeds and Newcastle would stay up IMO if they could keep their squads together.

Hydy, I think ( I hope ) we are a different animal this season... we are sound in defence in the main... the opposition will be fearing us now... a nice 2 day rest before they are back tomorrow prepping for QPR... I think we can reel one of the top 2 in.. Newcastle some very tough fixtures .... the natives will hopefully get restless.

i said last before the game that whoever wins the game on sunday would get promotion. Sadly i still believe that. But i still think we will go up too.

Anyone who goes to Leeds, Town, Barnsley or Sheffield Wednesday's games should want 3 or those 4 promoted this season.
I want Town, then Leeds 2nd place because it's much more likely they'll do than than Barnsley, then Tykes up through the playoffs. I'm sure all the match going Leeds fans on here want those 3 teams up too but with Leeds first.

its a little different for me as i'm not from Leeds. I was born in Coventry so the Yorkshire rivalry doesn't really affect me.

I know I'd rather have a Yorkshire derby than say Town vs Fulham next year. If for no other reason that travel.

if we had that situation where both town & leeds went up, then that would be phenomenal especially on a business point of view, both places would be buzzing...

Just one to ponder guys..........
With this talk of 'Would we (TOWN) be good enough if we went up', & the upcoming FA Cup tie,
I honestly think TOWN could give Swansea more than a good game... Confident enough to dominate such a fixture.... Man City, at home, v The Swans. 1-0 early on, From then on the visitors have plugged away and equalized ! City having to rely on an injury time winner !
This Cup tie will be a good litmus test of where TOWN are at, re- this anticipated promotion & ability to compete there after.
