India vs Bangladesh Only Test

Bangladesh play their first ever test match since gaining test status in 2000. To be honest, I was more confident about India playing England than I am about them playing Bangladesh.

India win the toss and bat first. They go in with 3 seamers and 2 spinners.

How come India is so generous regarding pitches.. Just look from New-Zealand series to England and now Bengis.. No more rank turners and our bowlers have been pretty good despite any home pitches advantage.

May be it will help for overseas tours but we shouldn't take any chances against Aussies. Warner & company can create havoc on such pitches. They are not weak like England or Bengis so we should be careful. I feel SA got raw deal when they came to India last time but we also know what kind of pitches we will be getting especially in England or New-Zealand..

Exactly my thinking fact. We have been very generous in terms of pitches. Australia are king of playing on flat decks. Players like warner can easily score a quick 150 and smith is in good form as well. I think aus bowlers will be more effective on such placid wickets. I would rather we have something for the spinners to work on.

Bangladesh has been the most competitive team to tour India this season.

Do India only play at home now?

posted on 14/2/17

Just in 2014 India played 90% of the matches away. 2 matches in SA, 2 in NZ, 5 in England and 4 in Australia. We don't have a normal home season as England do every summer or aus do every Nov- Feb.

We will be doing same from this summer onwards. Series in SL, then SA, then Eng, then Aus, and NZ. No international team has such a big imbalance between their home and away schedules as India.

I hate this imbalance, it means at any point in time, its difficult to take the rankings seriously eg after 2 years of playing in Asia, Pak got to number 1, now a few series outside Asia and look where they are?

Yh agreed the schedule is a joke. Hearing the ICC are going to be bringing more context to all international fixtures, and every team will have to play each other.

Also cricket in general has seen a shift towards home dominance. You can literally guarantee in most games that the home teams will win and that also by huge margins. It's no longer competitive as it once used to be.

Agreed Viru

Hope they sort out the fixture list soon.

India are invisible at home. We can play a 3 rd string team and still win. Next target for kohli should be triple ton against aus
