PSL corruption case!!

Nasir Jamshed arrested along with Pakistan openers Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were suspended from the PSL last week over alleged breaches of the anti-corruption code.

They got information after infiltrating into Pakistani bookies!!

Time to step up and ban such players for life. No more slap on wrists like banning for few years and make a comeback..

My point is not what the punishment should be for these players, the point is are all the players (or even half the players) who fix actually getting caught.

For example, everyone said Sreesanth deserved his life ban, but what if a high profile player committed the same offence and was protected at the time?

SreeSanth would get a life ban and the other guy would continue his career and make millions with their reputation intact. That's where I think the problem is.

JT,

India in the past too were not hesitant to punish big players. Azharuddin who was captain of Indian team was banned for life. To my best recollection, he never played again for India after being found guilty.

Now compare Amir's case and how PCB initially supported these cheats. They even fought with ECB who supported PCB big time.

Just to add R.I.P Shahid Afridi's international career finally . In my view he was more like showpiece for his team for the past few years!

Also if any Pak fans watched, IU vs QG game? I thinks it looks fishy. How come a team looses a game like that. Really can't believe it.

Regarding the final, PCB's ego is going to hurt Pakistan cricket's future! So many bomb blasts in last few weeks at Lahore and they still want to have the final there. Why not just play the final in Dubai? Why risk the lives of players for one game? It won't help to bring cricket back to Pakistan. Sorry my neighbors if your feelings got hurt but I'm just stating the facts.

Oh no, again another Pak vs India slanging match. Can anything be discussed without this constant back and forth.

JT,

I wish you had shown the same enthusiasm in India bashing threads.. All I did was to state mere facts! We may differ with opinions but that doesn't mean we hate each other pal!

Fact taker,

I tend to ignore bashing threads when a team has lost, there were plenty when Pak lost to Australia too which I don't really care for. But this was a discussion on match fixing, I have no idea what Afridi's retirement or the PSL final location have to do with it at all.

The PSL dodgy match you mentioned was fine, I haven't seen it but have read about it, I agree it looked a bit fishy. You usually make good points, just don't understand why you needed to bring up other things, not that I care, just that it means the topic gets diverted.

Well said JT. You are one of the few sensible posters here. I never meant to divert the topic and my sincere apologies if it came that way! Next time I will make sure it doesn't look that way..

Regards my frnd!

Mohammed Irfan now suspended by the PCB

Thanks CF for the info bro.. I'm not surprised as usual..It's high time that PCB gets its act together and get it right. ICC should keep an eye and make sure that from now onwards strict punishments are given. No more slap on the wrist otherwise we will keep on seeing such incidents on regular basis.

Batsman Shahzaib Hasan has become the fifth Pakistan player to be provisionally suspended by the PCB as part of its investigation into alleged corruption in the Pakistan Super League.

Shahzaib was suspended with immediate effect from all forms of cricket for allegedly failing to report a suspect approach in time and in full detail, and also for allegedly inducing players in corruption indirectly.
