Not to sure why we let this lad go on loan if I'm honest , he may have had a clash with Poch but to me I thought this lad was a class act , and his passion is there for all to see.
Apparently according to German press ,if he plays for Schalk this week end it frees up his release clause of 16.5 mill.
With Dembele looking a shadow of the player he was last year , Carroll playing like Modric at Swansea and the sale of Mason to Hull we IMO look light in the middle, with only Winks as the other option.
I know a lot of posters think Sissoko should play central but I get better runs in my pants than this guy can produce.
Anyone else think it was a mistake leeting him go ?
Nabil Bentaleb ?

What we need is
1. A top centre back so we can comfortably play 3 at the back. Dier is no CB and should be competing with wanyama for DM
2. Left back to cover rose. I liked Davies but he looks dreadful in the system at the moment. He's a good player but we need a rose type
3. Another central midfield option. At the moment we have dembele wanyama and winks. The first two are being used every game and luckily victor has been fit all year and no suspension. Winks not ready to be a mains man.
4. Either use GKN or sell him and buy someone we will actually use. We need at least one of that style of player in the squad. Quick and direct. If not 2.
5. Striker who can actually compete with Kane for a starting role.
Lots of work needed.
Wembley next season. I would be surprised if we finish mid table-ish as I cannot see us having anything other than an awful home record

As always you talk a lot of sense.
Dier is another option for point 3 if used properly. Think people forget how good he was there last year.
It's weird at the moment. Sometimes I think we're on the edge of greatness and other times I think fack we're one dimensional and just a team of workhorses. Need to get our mojo back (and lamela back)

We need imo
2 new back up FBs
1x creative Midfielder
1x Striker ( ideally pacey )
1x Cb ( assuming we are giving up on Wimmer )

I personally always thought he was way overhyped by certain spurs fans and Tim Sherwood. I know he had a decent breakthrough season but i never actually saw anything spectacular from him apart from being a nice tidy footballer with good ability on the ball at times. He offered no real goal scoring threat and miss placed so many passes it was infuriating watching at times. I trust in Poch and if he thinks Bentalab isn't good enough then so be it.

Agree with that, although I'd have sooner kept him on and saved the £30m we spent on Sissoko.
If we're talking about attitude problems with Bentaleb then it's baffling we paid £30m on a guy who couldn't be arssed to raise his game for a relegation fight. At least when we bought Parker from relegated West Ham he had had a good season.

Triffic family man.

Terrific player. One of my favs at the club and gutted we let him go. Said it many times heir to the Dembele role and only just turned 22. People forget he made his debut at a young age at the club and had nowhere fulfiulled his potential and I hear people say he is overhyped
Yes , he had a great debut season and agree the performances did tail off after, but he hardly got a consistent run in the side and fans automatically expected him to put in a 10/10 performance whenever he put the shirt on.
Good footballer, technically efficient , good energy and he had a passion for the club . To think we paid 30mill for sissoko who struggles to even use the ball in any way and got rid of bentaleb who was a good manipulator of the ball still baffles me. He has scored five goals and provided five assists for Schalke this term and recently named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award for the first half of the 2016-17 season ahead of Ousmane Dembele and Naby Keita. Overhyped indeed!!
There are also rumours in the press of Shalke buying him for 16.5 mill but willing to listen to offers above 30mill as Liverpool and Manu have been monitoring him.Now if that happened that would seriously pi$$ me off.Still amazed people cant spot decent talent under their noses.

That article says 21m euros, that is around £18m.
He obviously fell out with Poch, it is frustrating that we let good talent go for whatever reason and replace it with over priced cart horses

He wanted to leave, simple as that.

Absolutely Not the case . He never got played with Poch clearly stating he wasn't in his plans and was free to leave .

Poch clearly has "his guys" & Bentaleb clearly wasn't one of them. Cant see him coming back but I agree he's a talented player. I don't think we ever gave him a chance to recover his form after injury. Would have him play ahead of sissoko any day but sadly don't see it... onwards & upwards !
