Blackburn Rovers 1 - 0 Derby County

Blackburn Rovers 7.45pm Tuesday at Ewood Park. Still 10 points behind the play-off pack, still looking for a modicum of comfort from the angst of recent games.

Animosity begats squabbles and bickering between the Faithful as we strive to raise above the opposing views of our fans who are bewildered by this total deflation of a half interesting season which now seems to have stuttered to a total stop.

I'm not even going to try and drum up some hypothetical situation where we win tomorrow and storm up the table. We have flattered to deceive and now we look to next season. Posters can argue about our best team, formation, captain and style. If we did have the 'best of' why has our management team not recognised it?

Our PotY - Richard not Ang - is injured and may miss out on his 900th consecutive appearance....Shackell is out too which could make things interesting.....very interesting....could be the making of us

Team news:-

Pearce (C)

Substitutes: Mitchell, Bryson, Anya, Butterfield, Camara, Vydra, Olsson

Tricky. The antecedents of my old regiment fought on both sides in the '45.

I am currently looking at property in Derbyshire in the event than an Indyref reversal means relocation

Was originally High Peak but reasonable access to Pride Park preferred......

Did they fight for both sides at the same time? Trying to picture it.

If you feed deer fly agaric mushrooms and then drink the urine you can have a psychedelic experience for free and avoid being poisoned.

It works, but you need persistence, and a funnel...and an excuse really........

I think this is Fin's area of expertise isn't it?

If our current form continues it might be the only answer, I imagine the highly coveted movement we long for would be more noticeable after drinking the good stuff.

Probably, they feed them to Reindeer.

Just watched the 1st half, one of the 5hittest I've seen in a long time. Hope the second half improves.

Have to say I concur with Vidals

......Ince.........Nugent........Vydra.....

I'd only do this when chasing a game though and be mindful that Blackburn were almost as useless as us.

We seemed to push up (Blackburn dropped back) 2nd half, JDS seems to do a better job of holding in our defensive third than in their half, he read the counter attack runs poorly twice at the beginning of the 2nd half. The second time we got punished for it. Then Blackburn sat back and there was no more counter attacking.

Didn't think Lowe and Camara were as poor as some had said, obvy room for improvement though.

Coaching Points:

Practice the 5 second Barca rule, hunt haaaaaaaaaaard to get the ball back high up the pitch, if you don't get it after 5 secs then retreat.

Wingers coming narrower to put pressure on opposition CB and CM when we don't have the ball. Hughes and Johnno keeping an eye on the flanks, unless they want to pick up their own pressing game.

Combination play in the final third.

1 and 2 touch football.

Passing into space for the runner to run onto.

LM, LB and LW and RM, RB and RW to work on combination play including the setting up of 2 v 1's.

Video session looking at when to cross a ball and when to not cross a ball.

Silence drill, players aren't allowed to communicate verbally (have to look up and learn to take responsibility)

Shooting.

Shooting from distance.

Shooting from close range.

Tracking opposition runs.

Group Therapy:
Healing the wounds of past trauma.
Facing your fears.
How to enjoy your football.
Understanding why we hide from the ball.
Body language.
Taking responsibility.
Nail care.

Food for Thought:

Could JDS play ahead of BJ? He has speed, could apply pressure quickly, he can run with the ball although his reading of the game when playing higher up the pitch seemed to need a lottle of work.

I see the cheating Leicester filth are still wriggling.. they really are disgusting, huh? Money is football steroids, and both they and Bournemouth cheated their way up and are now trying to escape punishment for it.
