Somebody shoot me now...

The Daily Mail are reporting that we have held 'secret talks' (obviously not that secret) with Roy Hodgson.

My detailed analysis: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

I mean, seriously.

I'm not religious, but I pray to God this isn't true.

Come back Nigel, all is forgiven!

Would do a good job I reckon. Solidify Leicester as a stable mid table club like he did at West Brom and Fulham.

Remember the reaction when Ranieri was first appointed by fans and pundits alike?

Borris, Blackstarr sends his apologies, he was attempting a bit Frankie Boyle humour that went awry.

I don't want us to be a mid table team, that's boring. I want us to aim for Europe and solidify us as a top 10 team who pushes for 6th/7th. If we don't achieve it and finish 10th then fine but I don't want to see us in the 11th-14th positions of mid table obscurity.

We won the league and have a good chance of reaching the CL quarters so we should be aiming higher than mid table. I actually think that's one of the problems this season, our aim should have been Europa League not survival. It just sent the wrong message I reckon and there was no motivation to aim for 40 points.

I completely disagree with that, CofE. The first job is always solidification in mid-table. Even we want to move on we look to go from there in a few seasons' time.

And Ranieri spent the entire first half of last season telling everyone who would listen that the aim was 40 points, even when we were looking good for more. 40 points was the primary target, not necessarily the final one.

Mid table solidification shouldn't be our aim anymore, that should have been last season's remit given we didn't deserve to be bottom all season and finished 14th. Survival shouldn't have been the aim then, mid table should have.

Now we've won the league but our aims haven't changed, it was simply survival again which is ridiculous. Where's the ambition? Where's the motivation to achieve anything?

We need to get out of this mindset that we're little old Leicester because we're not anymore, we have the potential to be a top 10 club aiming for Europe and that is what we should be aiming for.

A team that wins the league by 10 points is better better than settling for mid table with the likes of Watford and Burnley. Even Watford are aiming for top 10 and Europe according to my mate yet we have less aspiration than them and that's ok? No mate I disagree sorry.

. Burnley and Watford are mid-table and they shouldn't be our barometer.

1. 40 points.
2. Don't get relegated.
3. Stay up.
4. er no that's it.

PS oh nearly forgot - and win at the Millennium stadium.

Hodgson got Fulham to the Europa League final, to be fair.

I think he could be well suited to Leicester. Not the most inspiring of choices, though.

CofE - It's about having multiple aims. The first one, for pretty much everyone from Everton downwards, is to stay up. Get well on your way to that and then you can start looking at cup runs, top half finishes or even European qualification. I see nothing wrong with the first, publicly repeated aim being survival.

I actually had a dream about 3 years ago or so that Wenger resigned and Roy Hogson was our manager
