I wanted Arsene gone when he made Henry captain, so as you can imagine my patience has long gone. I do expect Wenger to sign for another year, as he's after the record for most games managed in the premier league, such is his ego. I also think as a result he'll waste most of the money built up over the years, on awful transfers like Xhaka. I also think when he's finally gone it will show how bad a state he's the left the club in with a massively imbalanced squad a terrible injury record, wage structure which is getting further away from the top clubs and non winning mentality. You can't compare his longevity to Fergie as Fergie was still winning right up to retirement.

Hasn't exactly been backed up by the arsenal board with transfers? Plenty of money to spend (who doesn't seeing as all ok clubs are wh00res to to deals), but you never seem to go after really top players at high brackets. I doubt that's just Wenger.,

He did great until 05. Then still think he worked some wonders during the time we first moved to the stadium. To get us top 4, playing great football, and still having us compete ok with the top teams with no money and a young team, was a good achievement. That period is over, and he's failed to move the team forward, and we're declining. Don't know why the board think he's done to deserve a 2 year deal. No ambition at all to win big trophies from the club

I'd imagine the board thinks, while they have him in charge they don't have to cough up too rates for players, even in the steroid infused money age the prem is.

The board appear to be no better. However player motivation, tactics, injury problems, inability to build a balanced side is more to do with the manager.

Prior to the stadium build, Wenger was known as a ditherer in the transfer market. Great managers can retain the league. Wenger couldn't even do that in Japan. Has the worst European record. Yes he had the unbeaten season but that counted for nothing. Conte went unbeaten and is looks like winning his 4th title on the spin. When Van Gaal went undefeated with Ajax they won the Champions league. He disses the League cup when all the English that have won the Champion league in the last 12 years have won the league cup. Not saying the league cup is be all and end all, it's just a lack of winning mentality.
