Thousands of football fans used Reddit to vote on the best team in the world - and this is what the results were :-
GK- DDG (Man Utd - PL)
RB - Lahm (Bayern - Bundesliga)
CB- Boateng (Bayern - Bundesliga)
CG- Bonuci (Juventus - Seria A)
LB- Alaba (Bayern - Bundesliga)
CM- Modric (Real Madrid - La Liga)
CM- Kante (Chelsea - PL)
CM- Kroos (Real Madrid - La Liga)
RW- Messi (Barcelona - La Liga)
LW- Ronaldo (Real Madrid - La Liga)
ST- Lewndowski (Bayern - Bundesliga)
As you can see La Liga and Bundesliga stars dominate the line up, and only two PL players make the first XI. This is reflected in the pitch where La Liga and Bundesliga have been dominant in Europe in the recent years.
Even If you look at the quality of the players beyond worlds best XI, you won't see many PL featuring in the second best XI.

It's quite obvious to see why the PL teams have failed to do well in Europe, The quality of the players isn't there to compete in Europe, despite ludicrous spending power that top English club have in comparison some of the European giants.
Is this a case of top PL teams wasting their monies on third tier quality players ? What can be done to increase the quality of the players in the PL in order to compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich ?

Getting a bit mythed with how people rate busquets, tidy player but not the world beater people say.
Kante offers a lot more imo.
Think alderweireld and azpilicueta deserve a mention in this convo though. Would probably say alder is the best cb in europe.

I would put Modric among the most mobile of central midfield players. Certainly with the ball

Every team needs a Kante imo, he will be the shield to the back four, then play two creative midfielders alongside him to support the attack.
