Did you know that footballer's (and many other athletes) are actually measured in their boots or trainers.
I remember hearing it from a pro's dad that I know, years ago. And the conversation came up again over the weekend.
Mental isn't it. So when you see a footballer's listed height, you can actually knock an inch and a half - 2 inches off of that. I'd turn up to measurement day in a pair of them old school world cups, with the long 2 and half inch metal studs!
So Rooney 5'9". Frank Lampard 6'0". Steven Gerrard 6'0". Fernando Torres 6'1". Gary Cahill 6'4" - all lies. Turns out they're not all freakishly above average height, and in fact they're actually pretty normal.
It surprises me that I haven't heard it brought up more often.

A lot of foodballers havs heights listed wrong for some reason. A classic is Sturridge, he's 6"0 at best but for a hell of a while was listed as tall as 6"2 on loads of sites. Benzema too is probably a similar height (between 5"11 and 6"0) and not 6"1/6"2

Apparently it's on the official Spurs site. I've argued this with Spurs fans on here. He is more like 5'10 than 6'0, or 5'8 to be honest.
