Was a major influence on many of my heroes including the Beatles and the Stones
A shame that his biggest selling single in the UK was the abysmal novelty record, My Ding - a- ling - number 1 in 1972

I always thought that he and his role in the origins of Rock and Roll were overrated.
But fair play to him, he had his moments of genius I suppose.
