Rank top 6 managers on current ability

Think I'd have Conte no 1 atm due to his success with Juve (making them the dominant force of Serie A), as well as overachieving with a mediocre Italy squad at the Euros and winning the PL in his first season

Mou and Wenger I'd have 5th and 6th respectively. Of course they would be up there in terms of all time great PL managers but Wenger is certainly past it while Mourinho it feels is also getting to that stage. Failed two seasons in a row now

Pep/Klopp/Poch are difficult to split. Pep has the CV and the brand of football but of course he managed great players, it remains to be seen whether he can do the same at City

Klopp overachieved massively with Dortmund, winning 2 leagues and reaching a CL final, but it does feel like he needs to find a plan B or C as Liverpool are still conceding too many goals

Poch has managed to get the 6th biggest spenders comfortably 2nd, overachieving again. Playing good football with young players while having the best defence too. But he needs to win trophies and compete in Europe

How would you rank them?

Brobers you are 100% right. 'Present time' or 'current' is absolutely subjective.

Maybe I was being a bit pedantic Wahl but it's only because I was literally talking to a brick wall

Maybe but you were genuinely right and I was more frustrated by, like you said, the other guy just not getting what you were saying for some reason.

Ranieri at end basically saying my point about football. You look clueless if you create shooting chances and the opposition first shot first goal vs the opposite happening last season.

I remember our game at OT how we didn't blow them away before it went to 1-1 was incredible if their first attack.

On current ability???

Why not just refer to the table.

Conte
Poch
Klopp
Pep
Then the rest

Chelsea and Liverpool will have made the biggest improvements from last season.

Pedantry is rooining this site

Nah, what's ruining this site, and most of the internet, is entrenched opinions and people wanting to do nothing else but call each other stupid. Also it's young people who have grown up with the anonymity the internet affords people and spend their lives trolling, for God knows what reason - presumably some kind of self esteem thing. Not enough cuddles, or poor social skills, something like that.

How a manager deals with this last part of the season will tell you alot more than taking a guess now.

I agree.

Not only that but i don't believe you can make a judgement like this on the basis of one or even two seasons.

For example, if you asked this question a year ago then surely Ranieri would have to be high on the list?

Now he isn't even on it...

On that basis I think you are being a bit harsh on Wenger and Jose - especially the latter. One or two good seasons don't make a great manager - and one or two bad seasons don't make a chit one!

You could make a reasonable case for pretty much any order,
