Marinakis is about to takeover Forest within the next fortnight according to this report in the NP. Deal is for 100% control so Al Hasawi will be no more at the CG, which would please the majority of fans no end. Marinakis in partnership with some Greek telecommunications bloke by the looks of it.
Would this deal lead to a renaissance for the Garibaldi or are the Reds going down the Portsmouth line of being flogged to increasingly incompetent and despotic owners?...

Seems to have worked in various roles within Greece and should be experienced in business. I guess if there are two investors then there is less chance of a dictatorship? Unless this guy is just a patsy?...

It's not news that excites me to be honest, a little bit of relief that the current regime is ending as it's become painful viewing. But trepidation as nothing I have seen or heard about the new guy really convinces me things are about to improve.

I agree it doesn't exactly fill me with excitement either. Looking at the amount of underwhelming owners of football clubs in the U.K. at the moment, odds are that they probably won't achieve a great deal. Surely they'll be better than Al Hasawi, won't they?...😐

There is no way anyone could paint getting rid of fawaz as a bad thing, but if montanier and pereira are the kind of quality that the Greeks plan on bringing into the club we'll be going from incompetent to incapable.
But then again, you never know how it will pan out if they actually have a plan.
Oh, how we dream for a plan.
Hope for the best though

I wonder if there will be some dirty laundry aired if Al Hasawi does exit. From what many who have worked at the CG have alluded to, there may be some interesting stories to tell...

Who knows what turn events will take. We will just have to wait and see. We were all excited when FAH took over and we all know how badly that turned out.
I think most fans, like me, have reservations about the greeks. I think what it boils down to is Will the new owners let McParland, Gordon, and a new CEO be allowed to run the club. These are people who have been in football for a while and know what it takes.
All that is required of the owners is to set targets and budget and then step away. It is something that was well beyond the capabilities of FAH.

Yes, common sense ain't that common, though. Especially when it comes to football club owners. At least we shouldn't get the usual guff about how they've always been Forest supporters. That's a sure sign someone is trying too hard!

Pedro & Phillipe were unfortunately fish out of water. They didn't understand English Football at all, never mind the Championship.

Very much lambs to the slaughter. Sure they were well compensated though.
