Spurs's young team?

Now ill start by saying full credit to them for keeping us honest in this race, they are really keeping us on our toes and luckily there's only a few games left and with our fixtures now i think we will do enough.

But every time they play i keep hearing the words "Tottenham's young team", now correct me if im wrong but hasn't this been their first choice Xl this season? Lloris, Walker, Alderwierld, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Waynama, Eriksen, Alli, Kane (with Son in for Dier if a back 4).

Out of those 12 only four are under 24 and the rest are 25-30, i can't be bothered to calculate but the average age of the squad must be about 25-26 which is approaching prime age. Is this 'young team' label a narrative to take the pressure off them? Or (a bit like Arsenal of the late 00s) is it just a lazy statement that dribbles on because the team were quite young not so long ago?

That is the 50 youngest XIs fielded this season.

See who is top?

See who makes up about half of the 50?

Guess who are not there?

Mate I know your current team is one of the youngest, that's not a debate, I'm just saying your young players ain't that young because they're not. I don't even class Amartey as a young player and he's younger than Dier and Kane.

Our players are young, Ndidi, Gray and Chilwell are all 20 and are all quality hence why they've all been in our starting XI while Morgan and Huth have been out and also on the pitch together at various times. We've won six out of the last nine league games and also played against Atletico and drawn but nobody notices how young they are. Like I said, we've fielded a team younger than yours in the last few weeks with an average of 25.82.

Next season you ain't gonna be the youngest team and I'm pretty certain that our three players older than yours won't be in the starting XI and will be replaced by much younger but better players. Our average will be under 26 next season no doubt and lower than your average of 26.29 this season so let's see how many people notice.

I don't think many will and we'll still hear people bleating on about your young team with only three players under 25 and that really isn't that young.

Our average is just over 25, not just over 26. It is the youngest team and squad in the division, hence it is called a young team.

Not a myth, or a media love-in. It is fact.

That they are best team over the last two years by a good 15pts (just not the best in either season), and are a good 1 or 2yrs away from their prime average of 26/27 is why they are talked about an exciting young team

It is all good and well saying what you will have, but at present you do not have it. For all we know Huth, Morgan and Fuchs will all be in your XI next year.

This year we have blooded Carter-Vickers (19), and have signed Nkoudou (22), Janssen (22) and Pau Lopez (22). Onomah (21) and Wimmer (24) are squad players

Of our regulars owe have Davies (24), Dier (23), Winks (21), Alli (21), Son (24) and Kane (23)

Eriksen and Lamela have both only just turned 25.

Your young players are crap and you know it, yeah sure they've played but none of them are good enough to start and would never get near anyone else's first team, utter garbage.

We can talk about Harvey Barnes, a 19 year old on loan at MK Dons and their player of the season or Tom Lawrence whose 23 and was Ipswich's player of the season. Both have had great seasons and Barnes in particular is extremely highly regarded and will get a chance next season.

We have a lot of young players under 24 if we include Musa, Mendy, Amartey, Kaputska as well as Gray, Ndidi, Chilwell and Barnes and every single one of them is better than your bench apart from Barnes who we can't judge.

Can't wait for this time next week ๐Ÿ˜‰

With such quality players it is a real surprise we will have double the amount of points as you do if we win tomorrow

The table does not lie.

With your experienced side you were Champions last year.

With your excellent young players you are still not safe from relegation this time. Then you wonder why people are not raving about them

I can being a MK season ticket holder

Been an absolute joy watching him play. Skill, Power and good pace too.

Sometimes he's a bit over zealous and over cooks the pass/cross but you could see he was far superior than anyone else on the pitch.

Gutted he won't be around next season

No you're right the table doesn't lie but then it can also tell a false picture. You're an intelligent bloke so surely it's not got unnoticed that Ranieri tried to change our style of play and it didn't work? Shakey then reverted back to the way we play best and all of a sudden we're performing like champions again? That hasn't gone unnoticed has it?!

If not then perhaps you could ask yourself where we might be in the league had we continued to play like this all season instead of from the end of Feb? We're most likely to finish 8th after messing around for two thirds of the season.

I see our U23's beat yours at the Lane and Barnes scored a couple, you can't even beat our kids ๐Ÿ˜‚

Well there you go, you clearly know more about him than I do but all I've read is good things about his time at MK and I'm excited to see him break through into the squad. Local lad too, from the same village Kasabian went to school in so even more reason to get him involved in the first team.
