Upcoming players

Like every year this years IPL has resulted in the emergency of few promising players.

I have been impressed by the likes of Rahul Tripathi, Rashid Khan, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar.

For people of watch IPL who do you think amongst the current young crop can make it big at the international stage?

IPL is pretty sht to be honest. It's all about the PSL now.

Better women in the crowd for sure when they bother to turn up.

You know would but the Hijabis will reject you. You need to be above 5ft7 to qualify

Samson has been a "talent" for four years now but is still lacking that next step up. It's all good and well captaining Kerala in Ranji and hitting a few IPL runs here and there but he doesn't seem to have the minerals to make the step up.

Risabh Pant (heir apparent to Dhoni) and Ishan Kishan are the latest breed of batsmen that could go far although I hope the former doesn't go the same way as Samson. More than our youngsters it's been the older players who have performed better - the likes of Uthappa, Gambhir, Yuvraj and Harbhajan have all been pretty good.

I will add my info later after my research but I'm 💯 % sure that it's time for Dhobi to retire!

Problem with judging any new player on s tournament like this is that they are only playing on one type of surface, so almost impossible to answer that question. Also let's be honest, it's T20 cricket - hit and giggle.

I don't think one single player has emerged into the international scene (then translate to Odi and tests) after an outstanding T20 tournament, but stand to be corrected

Gambhir and to an certain extent Uthappa were always brilliant. How Dhawan or Sharma are above Gambhir in ODIs is still beyond me.

Think Rohit gets a lot of flak from our supporters and the media because he can be frustratingly inconsistent but when on song he's brilliant to watch. I think we all expected him to have a career similar to Kohli's but he hasn't quite hit those heights. He can still be a useful player though.

Our opening pair has been a nightmare since Sehwag left the fold. For a while I thought Dhawan and Rohit would be the answer especially after they both played so brilliantly in the CT in 2013 when we won it.
