Some friendly advice.

The Europa league is for failures. Losers.
It is for teams who failed to get in, or remain in the Champions league.
Arsenal, for all their current woes, were still TOO GOOD to drop down into the Europa league.
To win this 'league of failures', makes you the king of the failures, a real...specialist in failing.....Lord of the Losers!
Doesn't it make you all cringe with embarrassment, to see your once mighty club pinning everything on winning a competition your rivals are TOO GOOD to drop down into?
I feel sorry for you all, I really do.
BUT! if Jose wants the title of 'Lord of the Losers' so badly...I have some friendly advice, to save you all from more despair and distress..
IF you should manage to sneak past those failures and losers and actually win the thing, please,PLEASE don't brag about it, or try to claim it is a real trophy!
Okay?
Oh, and you're welcome.

YAWN!

Yet again, much a do about nothing. If ya in it, then it's important to win it. Regardless of fan ego over so called club status.

If he'd said it wasn't important and he couldn't care less about winning, then it'd be something to talk about. But he never. He's spot on. Put your egos down a moment reds. The glory days have been gone a while. As your club stands currently, the Europa trophy IS critically important.

As a Liverpool fan, I was really disappointed when we lost last year's final, but I think that was because of the difficult and thrilling run we had in order to get there.
It's a decent cup to win, but doesn't add much to the legacy of a club that are normally seen as an established CL side.

OP, I guess that's why the winners of this "losers" competition go on to play in...

...the Champions League.

Right?

As if arsenal could win the Europa League...

Well obviously not if we aren't in it. We couldn't win the championship...

Won't win it next season either.

Well, I had a feeling most would completely miss my point here. Sadly, I was correct.
Can't be arsеd to answer you individualy, but for the hard of thinking, let me try again.
This post was not about Arsenal,so what you think of Arsenal is 100% irrelevant. Well done to you special cases.
Next point. I said "The Europa league is for failures. Losers."
Well, to enter this competition you either have to FAIL to win your league ( or get high enough to enter the CL ) or be a LOSER in the CL group stages. See? not that hard is it. Cold, hard facts.
Some joker here even tried to claim the FA cup is less than the Europa! Think about that for a moment!? EVERY team in England enters the FA cup,the top ones,by default are TOO GOOD to enter the Europa...it really isn't rocket science..
Lastly, this wasn't even a dig at Man U as such, it was
a question about why some people - the media mostly, to be fair - are suddenly bigging up this competition?
Lets be honest here,if winning 'A' trophy is so great, why don't we all fight for relegation,so we can win League 2 or 3? You see,if you have to be less than the teams around you to enter a competition,it must be worth a lot less.
Now,for those who can understand what I've said, I'm sure you are going to enjoy the insults and ironically wrong comments that will follow from those that just cannot grasp this simple piece of logic.
It has been fun watching the struggles of the less fortunate with this though, so thank you all.

It's a European trophy that guarantees CL football.

The disrespect shown to it is ridiculous. That being said the quality of competition in it this year is unbelievably poor which is why it's taking more stick than usual
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Disagree personally.

Many of the usual suspects went into the QF draw, and under performed or suffered unlucky defeats. There were also a few ties that saw the more favoured teams pitted against one another before the latter stages:

Roma
Zenit
Fiorentina
Villareal
Spurs
Athl. Bilbao

Then there were also some shock eliminations in the group stages:

Feyenoord
Inter Milan
Southampton

Just because the 'lesser teams' upped their game doesn't negate the fact that the pool of teams was still fairly strong.
