Regardless, I don't care.
I have been walking through the sunny streets of Sydney like a demented fool this morning. Even more so than normal I might add.
Whilst the season was an absolute disaster in many ways, it all turned out ok in the end. For once I am generally excited about next season. Here's why I am tenting my trousers and have more calluses than Andre the Giant climbing Everest.
1. Despite having three managers, we have finally got our man. MW can seem a bit one dimensional at times but we are at least playing it on the deck and creating chances.
2. Our Home form isn't half bad under MW. It's something to build on at least. We just need to learn how to set up against teams who aren't going to play football (Blackburn for example) and dismantle them like we did the likes of Brighton.
3. The Academy...Smith, Worral and Brereton joining Osborn in the starting line-up bodes very well...with Cash not far behind. Obviously we won't be as lucky as every year, (with players stepping up) but at least MW didn't drop them all....as every Brentford and Rangers fan said he would.
4. A new owner. Of course Fawaz still has time to ruin this, but hopefully we will all be aboard the big bad steamer that is Marinakis. Every player has his price, but hopefully, with some investment we can convince Brereton that his immediate future (at least) is with Forest. Apparently he was furious about Burke being sold, so I can't see another late August fiasco unless we become Olympiakos's feeder club.....
5. Structure.....a CEO, a new chef, allocated parking. It's looking a lot more professional already.
6. Over 28,000 fans yesterday. Hopefully this can be built on next season with more promotions to get people through the gates. Who cares if five thousand of them are kids. The little dogs all need a pint and a pie like the rest of us.
7. We are still in the Championship and whilst that isn't exactly exciting, it's better than trips to Scunthorpe's shed.
8. iFollow. More than good news for me, this is good news for teams like us in general. Teams that have a global fan base. They can take my money as soon as the service is available.
9. Ending a season with one manager and then starting the next season with the same manager. The last time that happened was with DF. The time before that was with wee Billy, in his first spell, back in 2009.
10. The players had balls yesterday. Big sexy playing for the shirt balls. If we can instill belief...then well, we might even finish as high as 20th.
Of course, we have the usual fears that any Championship club has, in that they might lose their best players.
Plus, we have probably the smallest midfield in the Championship and within that, an aging Cohen and Vaughan, who both need long term replacements.
We also have a host of players that need moving on and we need some muscle in midfield so that we don't get out fought when we play against players over 5ft 6. This is especially key in Away games.
Anyway, another roller-coaster, but we at least manage to get another crack at it next season without Fawaz at the helm. That's got to be worth an additional ten points alone.
Have a great summer everyone and see you all properly in August.
Cheers
Is it tooooooo soon?!

He certainly got them firing. League One is a whole different business to the Championship, as Forest know well.

Yep. Sheffield United spent what, 5 seasons getting back up?
Anyway, just listened to Radio Nottingham's football show, and a Greek reporter was saying how Marinakis wants Forest and Olympiacos to work together.... and immediately thinking that means players like Brereton get shipped to Greece the first sign of talent. If we lose Ben to Olympiacos for nothing then... well I don't know what. Nothing good though.

Was that how it sounded? M'mm, can't help boy be suspicious of any foreign owner these days. Once bitten, twice shy. Just hope they don't try and foist Kasami on us again for another season!

Will, yet again intend to agree with your thoughts, 'beware Greeks bearing gifts', springs readily too kind. While I believe FAH genuinely did want good things for NFFC, his arrogance would not let him take advice, a great shame really. The Greeks will be different, finance too them won't be a problem, the question is what is there view for Forest, do they seriously intend too invest in us, or are we merely a means to an end ?
Olimpiakos maybr great in Greece, but the Greek league is not too different to the Scottish league, basically a one trick pony. If the Greeks are serious then our future is looking good, the flip side is they may not be taking us seriously, and see us as a cheap and easy way too boost their profile. For me the jury is definitely out. As previously stated I hope it's not out of the frying pan into the fire, or beware of what you wish for. I will be glad when FAH finally leaves, but would have preferred a different type of owner, unfortunately, sugar daddies are hard to come by, and anything less than a billionaire is not going to be enough anymore.

I hate bloody predictive text, above should read,
Tend to agree with your thoughts, not intend

It'll probably work like Watford, Udinese and Granada a few years back. They'll buy players and loan them between themselves and sell them to help boost transfer funds and get around FFP.
Hopefully we don't end up like Granada though. I don't want tony Adams as manager! Although the queues at the bars would no doubt improve!

There will inevitably be movement between the clubs but whether that is to Forest's benefit or not is the key question. I'm clinging to the fact that they brought this finance director in who has managed to pull things together considerably behind the scenes. Having the new kit available before the end of the season is no mean feat. Hopefully they will follow only this track and employ proactive people in the right areas to help get the fans back on board.

They have had most seasons recently. It's just been obliterated after a few months because the owner mucked up again...
