Trump sacks FBI director

Huge news over in the States that FBI head James Comey has been sacked fours years into a ten year tenure (imagine we had given Moyse a 10 year contract).

Anyway, Comey has openly stated that the FBI are investigating Trump and his campaign team for possible collusion with Russia during the election. It's been reported that official reason is due to his handling of the Hillary Clinton case (nobody is buying that). Also widely reported that Attorney General Jeff Sessions (who was also under investigation at one point) recommended to Trump that Comey should be fired.

Amazing news, could be the beginning of the end for Donnie. Sudden sacking of the man charged with investigating yourself surely means they are close to finding something.

PS. I won't bore you with anymore information on Brexit.

I'll leave you to find out for yourself.

im not clued up on voting around the world but does anywhere else in the world have a election where a person can lose despite more people voting for them?

this electoral college nonsense seems to be something that was invented years ago to tactically stop people getting into power even though the majority of the country voted them in

In Britain, the party winning the most votes across the
country in a General Election could theoretically end up with literally zero seats in Parliament.

Our system is complete and utter bullshiit.

it is, I mean i'm no fan of ukip but last election I believe they gt 4million votes yet got literally no seats(some will say thankfully), but that doesn't scream democracy especially when we go on about lecturing the rest of the world about fair elections

Did anyone listen to Radio 4 this morning? Did you hear the political group interview with some northern types this morning? I missed the start, but they said tomorrow's is "middle class remainers" - am I to assume this morning was meant to represent "working class leavers"? If so, they're a sorry bunch.

The biggest problem with this system is it leads to political apathy with people not caring to vote since they know that their vote won't count for anything depending on where they live.

Ukip got one seat from four million votes.....SNP got forty odd from much fewer voters?

Goes by size of State, so Cali gets several reps compared to Ohio.

What relevance does Hillary Clinton have here??

None whatsoever.

It's your usual tactic of deflecting attention away from the matter in hand.

Trump could be the most affluent and successful president ever, (possibly in a parallel universe).

But until his ties to Russia have been fully scrutinised and investigated everything else is irrelevant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ridiculous logic.

You say the Hilary factor is not relevant, but alleged Russian hacking of Hilary is vital....dearie me, standards are slipping😟

Trump is not my kinda guy, and his ego is the size of Alaska, but if Hilary Clinton is the alternative, people will ditch her identity politics, and go elsewhere.

TBAB

What on earth does Trump’s sacking of Comey have to do with Clinton’s campaign to be POTUS?

In July 2016 when Comey made the Clinton email hacking public, Trump couldn’t praise him enough “what a guy” which in turn led to the “lock her up” chants.

There are currently four federal investigations into Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia.

Many links have already been established, and it’s a matter of how far up the ladder they go.

Subpoenas have been initiated into the Trump organisations financial records to assist investigations. As by his sons own admission the Trump Organisation used Russian financiers for a large chunk of his investment portfolios.

But if you feel deflecting attention away from Trump (to Clinton) strengthens your argument, knock yourself out
