I think Jose will look at last night and realise 3 things

Blind isn't tall enough to play in a backs to the wall defence

Herrera isn't the DM he's looking for (very good player but can't do the dirty work we need right at the base of the midfield)

Rashford may indeed be the real deal

James is underrated if anything. Most don't seem to rate him. Loads of people call him overrated but I don't really see much overrating going on.

I do like James, though. But I'm not sure he's the right fit for us. I think he's best played as a number ten and it doesn't look like we're setting up to play with one having signed Pogba.

He can play outwide, of course, but I don't think he's quick enough to excel on the counter like we've seen from the likes of Mkhi and Mata.

He's better than both of these, but is it necessary to upgrade on them for the money he'd cost?

Whoever does sign him will be getting an excellent player. City will probably sign him. They haven't got enough attackers.

Agreed on all counts regarding James.

James would be a terrible signing for you under Jose, perhaps under a different manager he could work but with Jose needing every man working their socks off without the ball he'd be a passenger.

Wouldn't shock me to see you push for Andre Gomes, you were interested before his move to Barca and it hasn't worked out for either him or Barca.

Disagree there, Tiddles - on two counts.

Firstly, because James isn't the type of luxury player you might think

Secondly, because even though his teams are typically hard-working, Jose does make room for that kind of player.
