Players Stepped Up on Sunday...

... Now the fans need to do the same this weekend against Boro.

There's been a lot of negativity from our fan-base about Liverpool messing up in their pursuit of a top 4 finish and having demolished a very poor West Ham at the weekend, a lot of our fans are still apprehensive about this coming Sunday.

The players really stepped up the other day and I think the fans going to the ground on Sunday owe it to the team and the manager to give Anfield a real positive and jovial atmosphere for the final game of the season.

I think fans are still disappointed about not mounting a serious title charge when it looked on the cards in December. And it didn't materialise for a number of reasons, mainly injuries and a small squad. But let's be positive an celebrate the fact that we have something to play for at the last game and it isn't our usual dead rubber. For large parts of the season we arguably played the most entertaining attacking football and the manager and squad should take credit for that. We are progressing well, scoring more, conceding less and have bettered last years points tally despite having a small squad.

I think this season should be celebrated regardless and I think if the fans do their bit on Sunday, then the result will take care of itself.

Onward and upwards. Up the Reds.

Considering the injuries we have had to key players this season I would be extremely happy finishing 4th
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Considering the media had this season built up to be Pep vs Jose and considering how much both clubs spent on recruiting new players, I was happy for the squad to show signs of progression under Klopp and a 5-6 league finish. I'll be very happy with top 4 for now - Especially if it can be used as a spring board to recruit more players and mount a title challenge

Good post mate and glad to see the optimism, hope we tear into Boro and just bash them into submission early.

Overall I'm happy with this season, should we get 4th of course, we were brilliant for the autumn best team in the country to watch for sure, but as you say there were a plethora of reason we fell away from a title challenge.

But I think this season has opened the owners eyes a bit in terms of what is required in a squad to seriously challenge at the top and I fully expect Klopp to be backed with cash this summer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah I think Klopp needs proper backing from the owners in the summer. If not, we seriously need to question their ambition.

Dont get me wrong, money aside, I'll be more than happy if Klopp can recruit more players of the same calibre as Mane, Matip and Gini. But we seriously need quality and numbers if we are to do anything next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had a great transfer window last summer. I don't see how we can question the owners ambitions when we signed 3 players who went straight into the starting XI.

1 player who is our top scorer in the league.
1 who has the most assists in the league
1 who is universally considered our best CB.

I'd find it hard to be dissatisfied with the owners there at all.

Hopefully the board will see how weak our squad was in January when we couldn't cope with injuries. If only we could of won half our games in January the league table would be a lot different

To turn in a profit at the end of summer signings and, if we get there, in the top four would be a fantastic achievement. That, it has to be said in my view, would be down to the man himself.

Take a bow Jurgen.

Yeah the books look well balanced now with the dead wood getting sold, new sponsorship deals and the new stand bringing in much needed revenue.

Onwards and upwards now.

op is right.

when you are on 43 points on 19 games and end up on 73 after 37 games its a let down a bit

The owners have simply not put enough money into player investment over their tenure, I think Belmontey is correct in that last transfer window was good, but the season we went into the CL after losing Suarez was a disaster. We need to ditch the scatter gun and pick three and preferably four or quality players to give Klopp the squad he needs.

Klopp would say he's happy with the squad as did
Brendan. He soon changed his opinion once he lost his job.

We have a top manager in charge back the man with what he needs and we will do rather well I think.
