Is the writing on the wall....?

Are we headed for a new manager??

Forget the personnel tonight. There was a clear gulf in application from both teams to play for their gaffers.

After a massive effort over the last third of a season from all players and staff to be the best we can be. Has some new news reached the dressing room?

That was not Leicester City tonight. Not in the way I have got to know them recently. Granted, it was an end of season dead-rubber in terms of result ( and i genuinly hope Spurs enjoyed their big evening out) but something is a miss again, and I dread that Shakey's future has been decided and they already know....

I hope not. But given our serious lack of strength in depth another outside force will rip the whole thing up!

You should avoid the knee-jerk reactions that inevitably follow big defeats. Just sit down and learn from the mistakes. Weird substitution I agree, left your defence totally exposed. Where was the famous team spirirt we keep reading about ? You had a cecent 10 minutes but once Spurs get the 3rd goal, Lesta just fell apart

Puffin - I think the main point for us is the context of Shakespeare supposedly having his future decided next week. It's not an easy decision given the competing factors of his knowledge about the squad, playing style and spirit as compared to his lack of experience as a manager and possibly inability to attract names. There are arguments either way. However, in recent times it has been swinging towards him staying.

Last night's result in terms of win/loss/draw wasn't a problem, particularly since we had makeshift centre back and centre mid pairings. Individual mistakes like Fuchs' for the opening goal can't be blames in such situations. But the game getting completely out of control at 3-1 due to Shakespeare's decision was, and moreover it pointed to a great naivety. Formation is often overrated, but you need to have one so people know basically what they're doing. The last 30 minutes last night were bad; Spurs smelled blood and were just queuing up to have a pop at goal.

It was badly mis-judged at 3-1 with the personnel at his disposal. And at this time of the season there was absolutely no need to try and force a result.

A shakey Shakey moment.

This reaffirms my desire for him to have a solid tactician as his number 2.

I can understand not wanting to blood the new boys in a massacre but it wasn't a good call and CS knows it. Maybe he does know something and feels he needs to demonstrate Valour in the face of the enemy

On a related note, just how bad must Wasilewski these days not to get on the pitch in that situation?

I wanted Elliot Moore on at half time to give him a go given the defensive frailty already present, but I take your point there, Nev.

I suppose the one bright side to it all was that Chilwell had a good game. Nobody else, mind. And he was up against the quite awful Sissoko.

Mountains and molehills springs to mind, Bournemouth is the must win game.

Reminded me of earlier in the season really with players out of position but it was almost forced on us this time plus of course Mahrez being awful but staying on till the end??

Aweful he may be the touch of brilliance for him to put vardy through in the first few minutes very few players would be able to do and not one LCFC player could so thats why he stays on unless Kasper says he must.

Mahez will be gone in the summer, the guy barely broke a sweat yesterday. Just gave up, at least the rest of the player waited untill the 4th goal to do that.

It's sensible to avoid knee jerk reactions, but at the same time we need to accept that Shakey got it badly, badly wrong last night.

The lack of options available to him certainly played a part but he made a lot of tactical mistakes which contributed to us going from a respectable defeat to a complete capitulation. Going to 3 at the back was the most damning error, it left us vulnerable to a 3 on 3 and allowed Tottenham to just play around them.

Let's remember that at 1-2 we were very much in the game. Even at 1-3 we still had a sniff. But his substitutions left us with a very flakey and fragile formation which Spurs just ripped apart at will.

This is probably the first time I've doubted Shakey. It also worries me that he is leaving it too late to bring on Gray, and seems reluctant to drop Mahrez. It wouldn't surprise me if the result, and particularly the way we fell apart, has put some doubts in the owners minds and has made them have second thoughts.

All of a sudden, Bournemouth looks like an important game.
