Re-vote by end of the year?

Last night does not appear to have settled anything. But DUP will most likely bolster the Tories.

There are people already saying though even though that would give the Tories a Majority they don’t feel it’s sustainable and there will be another election before the end of the year.

Scotland could have knocked me over with a feather. Was that the unionists? Whatever I thought the Tories would get a majority last night but it would all come from south of the border.

What do you think the most likely outcome of this is going to be?

Sturgeon is speaking outside Bute House at noon so hopefully we'll get some clarity. All the noises seem to be that they'll pull back on the referendum threat.

I think we've seen a rebalancing of politics in Scotland which is more aligned to how Scotland actually feels. The 2015 election was unbelievable and was never going to be repeated.

Keep in mind that, pre-2015, the SNP only had 6 MPs. They are still the biggest party in Scotland with more seats than the others combined. They in effect 'won' the election in Scotland.

However that doesn't mask the fact that it was still a disappointing night for them and is the first real crisis for Sturgeon to face as leader. Interesting times.

I'm sure every SNP representative who is interviewed over the next few days will remind us of how many mps they had before 2015. Perhaps it was unrealistic to expect them to repeat that but I can't imagine too many of them thought they would lose this many seats.

Pawl, think the expectation was that they'd be around the low to mid-40s.

In a way they've been helped by the fact that the Greens didn't put up many candidates to dilute their vote further.

Cheers Ivan.

I have 4 cousins who come from East Kilbride and are Celtic season ticket holders, they all voted no to independence. Is this unusual or is it not as much of a Rangers no, Celtic yes thing as some make out?

Hard to say. I'm not sure it's as clear cut as Celtic = Yes, Rangers = No.

Rangers fans are considered to be more likely to vote No though - The Bridgeton Loyal supporters club has made it clear that anyone known to vote for a political party that supports the break up of the UK will be kicked out of their supporters club - and there seems to have been an outbreak of Toryism among them recently.

Scenes if Labour and Sinn Feinn had enough seats to form a coalition

I'd be in stitches at the right wings mongs up and down the UK who were outraged a terrorist sympathiser (such utter nonsense) was now in power with thre Ra

Instead the unholy alliance of Tory's and the DUP could happen You Brits came close to being a leading light and voting in a proper man in Jezza, but still gave the witch a chance, disappointing,.

Flash, are you a glutton for punishment or what !

Flash your writing style intrigues me, when reading one of your articles I feel like I have arrived in the pub and you and a mate are having a conversation and I join half way through.

any way,

If I may

First of all who are the DUP, why the feck should they have any power over my life when they were not an option on my polling card.

Second of all

Politics is pretty much a farce, it's a two party show, a vote for anyone else but labour or conservative is a wasted vote unless you vote tactically, which is bull chit.

We all get riled up, with these clever little articles, like your previous one where you arrogantly claimed voters of labour are "turkey's" when in fact it matter VERY little.

Politics is about who Lies best to get power, we have no say in it despite the illusion of democracy, its not democracy when only 2 parties have a realistic chance. but we bang on about the importance of voting etc etc

it's all fecking chit, i have been alive 31 years and not once have i felt the effects of whoever has been in charge, positively or negatively.

i just get on with my life and be happy, instead of worrying about some caaant in downing street says.

Until the powers that be try to take me into a war, i do not want then ill continue to not give a flying feck about politics

its quite frankly boring
