Spain have a host of familiar names, with the jewel in their crown Marco Asensio of Real Madrid. The likes of Denis Suarez, Hector Bellerin, Gerard Deulofeu, Jose Gaya, Sandro and Saul Niguez give them a strong squad.

Germany will look to senior internationals Maximilian Arnold, Max Mayer, Serge Gnabry, Jonathan Tah and Yannick Gerhardt to carry them to glory.

English based players
The hosts Poland have included Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik in their squad along with Leicesters Bartosz Kapustka

String Spain squad, wow. Not I'm saying they shold be called up but likes of Alli, Dier, Stones, Rashford and even Sterling are all eligible.

That Spain squad is disgusting. Absolute embarrassment if they don't win it.

I didn't realise it was a biennial tournament.

Does that mean that only biennial players like Raheem Sterling and Will Young can play?

Isn't that a bit racialist for the 20th century?

None of this makes any sense whatsoever

This should be a great test for the lads, the Toulon tournament showed what our U21's reserves can do (no disrespect to the lads in the Toulon)

I would hope for a good show, confidence at a major tournament and being comfortable in that atmosphere/setup is key.

It's a shame we don't go for it a bit more and select a team to actually win a tournament. I'm sure it would do those young players no harm at all to experience going far in tournament football.

Club football trumps international football though I suppose and as the league season is pretty tough, players need a break.
