It's a done deal lads. This is a player that I'm really excited about. I just hope he lives up to expectations.
I don't know if anyone has posted it already, as I haven't read all the other threads. Hopefully not.
Done deal, not official yet though

As i say, Pele was just a bit part player in those teams.
Garrincha was by all means the catalyst for Brazil winning in 58.
62 he varely played due to injury.
70 he wasn't Brazils best player, lwt alone the best player at the tournament.
But aye, hes the greatest ever

He was voted player of the tournament in 70
Mexican people thought he was god.

Of course, Messi and Ronaldo aren't surrounded by great players
Most great players are part of great teams.
Portugal won the Euros final without Ronaldo being on the pitch at time...shall we discredit him?

No you rated them behind a drug-fuelled cheat,
Maybe Maradona has more in common with you

Maradona
Couldn't get into '78 Argentine squad
'82 gets sent off while Zico pist over his Argentine team
'86 brilliantly led the best team to victory
'90 Annoymous in final against Germany and Caniggia probably Argentinas best player
'94 Drug cheat
Finished at club level in his late twenties
Had 2 great seasons at Napoli, no EC win though.

Never claimed he was a great human being, just the best footballer ever.

Based on what?
Certainly not stats

The fact he carried average teams to championships.
Something Pele was never capable of doing.

Napoli were not an average team when Maradona played...went bust after buying the best Italian, Brazilian and Argentine players.
Pele was recalled to '70 Brasilian side because they were struggling after he retired in '66.
