There seems to be a bizarre trend of clubs buying young promising talent for crazy money but often overlooking great players who are about to come into their prime, Eriksen is a great example of this.

Lacazette's value is down in my view as he can't get into the French national side. He's more likely to go for 50m than 30m though so not exactly a freebie

Deschamps is weird, calls up likes of Sissoko and Gignac regardless of form, doesn't get along with Lacazette for whatever reason

It's all about the team ethic with Deschamps it seems. Laca like Benzema probably don't fit in. Nothing wrong with that in my view and a shame England didn't do similar when we were trying to wedge in Gerrard, Scholes and Lampard into the same team some time ago regardless of how they performed together.

Yep I'd agree with that. In this market, Aubemayang for 65mil is great value for money.

Talking of strikers going under the radar (e.g. Lacazette), It's interesting how Belotti's rise seems to have taken Icardi off the heat - who imo is the best out and out striker in Europe under 25. He's a CL caliber player without a doubt, I'm surprised his name never gets mentioned in transfer rumors.

Icardi doesn't get mentioned because it's widely accepted that no-one will meet his €110m release clause and has always proclaimed desire to stay at Inter.

These seem to be the most logical solutions:

Chelsea - Lukaku
Chelsea has always played best with a big target man and under Conte's system, with him being Italian, it should be no different

Arsenal - Lacazette
French, relatively cheap, not quite top tier

United - Moratta
Has relationship with Mourinho from Madrid days, versatile, whilst being tall and strong enough to satisfy Mourinho's fetish for big no.9s

Liverpool - Aubameyang
Dortmund connection. The least likely of the four though because is no way can Liverpool be seen as a step up, or even sideways, from Dortmund.
