Martial

Gossip today suggesting that if a suitable bid comes in we won't stand in his way.

My question is, what is a suitable fee?

Personally I'd keep him for another season to see if he does better, but if he does go how much we looking at?

He had a mediocre season and was only saved by a Europa League win

We hired him to do better than LvG and he didn't
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He did though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
apparently cup wins just happen by a lucky accident, and whereas the manager is entirely to blame for disappointing league form, he takes no credit whatsoever for a cup win (or cup wins, rather)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

In context he did not do a better job than LvG especially considering he was supposed to be this World Class Manager.

He won the Europa League, great.

Let us ignore finishing 6th place, the abysmal football and the money spent.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet you advocate lvg who spent more and delivered on be fa cup and played the worst football by any club side probably ever?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I actually do not advocate for LvG. I just find it laughable the selective amnesia some people on here have.

The man did a decent job with the hand he was dealt.

I thought we had got an upgrade but I've seen nothing to convince me of that.

Jose is an upgrade. Anybody with an ounce intelligence knows that.

Sorry kid.

You are talking about selective amnesia, then doing it in your very next sentence.

LvG had several transfer windows, so dealt his own hand... He had a second season, so knew his players and brought in further players to supplement them.

Jose was "dealt a hand" too, and managed to win 2 trophies. He is now entering into a second season and 3rd transfer window, we can start to properly judge him now, like we did with LvG.

It'd probably be about £30m knowing us. Especially as I don't see us selling him to a premier league club and the big boys in Europe won't be after him I don't think.

Needs another season and big improvements if he's going to have a future at the club.

2 trophies, Champions League football, Great signings, Rooney phased out.

None of which you could see LVG doing in his final season.

I think PSG would bid for him.

Possibly, though they've got quite a few wingers as it is.

I like the idea of Martial and Rashford playing up top together as interchanging #9/#11's. Both work well off the left or through the middle, and we have Mihki or Mata as the #7. I think we're in better shape than the gloom 'n doom crowd say we are. Those two lads could really become something special, we can only hope Jose's a believer.

Won't happen. We'll definitely sign a striker.

LVG failed. Mourinho was close to failure. If Ajax won, our season would not be considered a good one. What they both failed to do is take into consideration our annual injury crisis. Usually all the defenders becoming injured. I think it's time we made the most important signing of the last 10 years. A better medical team. Ours didn't notice Evra had an intolerance of eggs, the Juventus medical team did in the first few months he was with them.
